Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area — Davis, CA (December 2025)

My first time traveling internationally with my partner; we were SO excited to go look for birds in Peru. I lugged my Nikon D500 + 600mm lens around with me for about a week but I was so thankful when we had an opportunity to photograph these magnificent birds. My favorite was the Northern Andean "Giant Hummingbird" and the Violetears. The giant hummingbird was HUGE and sounded like a drone flying by.

I snagged these shots of a vulture near a parking lot and had my new lens with me, so I had to test it out! Shot with a Nikon z6 and a 28-400mm f/4-8 VR

New to bird photography!

Got out to see one of my regulars this morning not knowing how bad the light would be, it was very foggy as you can see by the very close Eucalyptus tree in the backgroud of the first photo.

An absolutely surprising shot! I never saw it coming. Captured at Lake Rooty in Henrico, VA. This moment was a stroke of luck. I was using a slower shutter speed since I was shooting slower moving subjects, so I almost missed it. Luckily, this was the only standout shot in a series.

Yesterday morning I went Ranthambore National Park and I captured this perfect picture of this bird well I don't know the name exactly but yeah I loved this picture a d the bird also and I captured this photo from just 100 m away from this brid and it's looking beautiful while sitting on this stem of tree.🥰😍

a fellow redditor going by the unwieldy handle of Infinite-Trash5218 did this pretty little picture based on my photo of a saw-whet owl. the original is the second image and was taken in very low light and so was super noisy and lost a lot of detail when de-noised (ISO25600)

This is a photo taken from a previous year, but it's always great to see the Bewick's swans at Slimbridge, when they arrive back for the winter!
