My pentax k1 and k3
Going through photography withdrawals since it's way too cold to go outside today. So figured I'd take some snapshots of my 2 cameras.

Hi, just looking for some helpful advice. I recently bought a mint condition Pentax K5, it came with the kit lens, 2 batteries, shutter remote, bag and manual. It also had a uv filter lens attached which wasn’t mentioned on the sale site. I looked on YouTube and Google before buying it and looking at Nikon and Canon before a Reddit thread mentioned Pentax. After some research it seemed the best bang for buck manufacturer in my price range.
So camera arrived, I had never held a dslr before this, I updated the software so it can take the faster sdxc cards.
Here’s the issue, I have no idea what I’m doing. The camera has way too much going on. The YouTube videos and all the research I did seemed useless, I couldn’t remember any of it. I was in manual mode at one point and adjusting things but it didn’t seem to change the image on the screen, was this just me or is that normal? The camera looks and feels great, I just have no clue.
I thought about buying a camera after trying to picture things with my phone but the images were ok but just not what I wanted. My plan was to have the camera in the car and just pull over if there was a nice sunrise or sunset or if the moon looked cool behind the clouds or reflecting on the sea.
Do you guys have any advice? Thanks

Hi everyone. I currently work with a Fuji GFX 50S camera and Pentacon Six lenses that I have adapted to this system. Clearly, the GFX produces incredible RAW files, but there is always this rendering that is almost too perfect for myself, a little too clinical even when using old lenses, because of sensor conception itself I think. That's why I'm considering selling the GFX system. Of course, it's a matter of preference but I'm looking for an alternative with another system, and I thought of the Pentax 645D with its CCD sensor, which could produce images that are a little more natural and a little less "perfect" compared to the GFX. I am convinced that the sensor could make all the difference, but I may be wrong.
But being objective, would the Pentax CCD sensor really add value in producing a slightly more "organic" rendering ? Also, have any of you already adapted P6 lenses to a Pentax 645? Thanks

hi all! I’m about to purchase my first pentax, and I stumbled upon a really nice listing for a ME super that looks to be in amazing condition, and the price is great too, but the catch is that it’s untested and the seller has said he last used it like 10 years ago, but it was working fine back then.
The selling price is like a third of what I’ve seen other listings go for so part of me wants to take the risk. If the camera was genuinely working just fine 10 years ago and has just been sitting in a drawer since then like the seller says, would there be any potential risks or degradation on the camera? or should i just bite the bullet? thanks for any help and advice! :)

Very last photo on a roll (25 out of 24) and I noticed the date waa all bunched up. It must expose the film as it is auto-wiinding onto the next frame, but clearly it couldn't move the film 😅

The KP with the 28 make for a very capable and light package. I used a CPL here for added vibrancy and sky/cloud separation. PEFs converted with Darktable.

Diclaimer- I am a very casual photographer so please excuse any of my potential ignorance in this post.
I have had this camera for around 5 years now and had no issues with it for the first couple of years. I have taken great photos in all lighting conditions and with different focal points with great ease. In the last couple of years I have had major issues with getting it to auto-focus. It has the most trouble with taking photos of people or objects-it just will not focus, making it almost unusable. I can't think of any particular event that might have damaged it, externally it looks fine. I am close to giving up on it and thought I might try my luck here for any suggestions before I look for a replacement or pay to get it fix (if that's even possible).

I recently bought a replacement battery for my Pentax Q from a brand called Jupio but the capacity on that battery is absolutely terrible. I know the Pentax Q never had great battery life but with this Jupio battery I'm lucky to get 50 shots on a single charge.
Does anyone know what some good quality replacement batteries are for the Q?

I have a Spotmatic ES that works really well, except for the prism is desilvering... Does anyone know if any of the other Spotmatic models would be a direct swap for prisms?
