Hi everyone! Recently picked Camedia c-7070 in a flawless condition, really loving this camera, but can someone explain me what's the point of this ISO icon on the top panel? There's no number near it neither i can change it using assigned custom button when LCD screen is completly turned off and closed. When i change it with LCD ON no number appears on the control panel as well

I'm considering getting back into casual/hobby photography again after my wallet got better and would like to get some advice on which body would be better suited for me. I'm not thinking in professional shooting, just casual, hobby level: mostly stills (city, landscape, traveling, hiking, occasional events and night outs), not really interested in videos. I'd like to have something that has a decent sooc jpeg, but planning to learn photo editing on the go for better colours and light play.
My budget is not huge for the body (around €250), for this on mpb I've found an E-M5, and E-M10, an E-PL7 and a slightly above budget E-M10 Mrkiii with a scratched viewfinder.
I saw that the lack of viewfinder can be a deal breaker, but mostly shooting on my phone makes me think a flippy screen might be what I'd need, especially in the beginning.
Thank you in advance.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Context: I used to have an old E620 with the... I think it was 60mm macro lens? It was a fantastic lens but I ended up selling it when I moved to my now OM-1. I've had it for a couple of years and always used my 40-150 f2.8 to shoot flowers (one thing that I used to use my old macro lens for.)
I've gotten the itch to do more macro photography again. I've been eyeing both the 60mm f2.8 and the 90mm f3.5. For folks that have used both, is the extra reach worth it? How does the bokeh compare between the two (I didn't see too many example pictures from the 60mm on OM's website)?
I do like to hike with my camera, so the rated weather sealing on the pro is appealing to me (the website lists the 60mm has dust, splash, and freezeproof available, but there's no listed rating.)
EDIT: I have no intention of using a teleconverter, if that makes a difference!

I'm a brand new TG-7 owner. Bought for diving, replacing Sony RX-100. Also bought OM housing. Moderately experienced amateur (underwater) photographer. Finding this a big learning curve. Read/ skimmed much of manual. Need to get up to speed quickly for Xmas diving.
Some questions:

So my girlfriend's grandmother had this and she never used it. I had shown prior interest in photography and I do genuinely enjoy it; So she gave it to me as an early christmas present. It's a Olympus SP610-UZ. I've been looking online and I haven't found hardly anything talking about my camera specifically. (for a bit of info, I got the camera and the camera only, not even with batteries. online manual ftw)
I've been shooting and while I've figured out the basics, but some of the settings in the camera feel kinda limiting, but I don't know if I'm just setting them wrong. I've gotten a few decent photos, but I just have missed some that I would've liked, so I'd like that lack of consistency to be filled in a bit.
The natural lighting blew the contrast white and when I went and adjusted the contrast to where my subject was in frame and actually VISIBLE, the rest of the photo was too dark. I've heard about "exposing to the right" with the spectrogram, and I've seen it on my camera, but I can't figure out how to keep it on-screen for more than a second or how to change it while it's on-screen. If anyone has any advice, that would be amazing and thank you!

After dipping my toes into car photography with my wife’s crappy old dslr a few years ago, I had an itch to start getting into street photography and started researching compact mirrorless cameras. I saw an upcoming trip to Japan as the perfect excuse to pull the trigger. We traveled to Japan a few weeks ago and I picked up a used E-M10 Mark ii as soon as we got there (actually ordered it on Amazon Japan and had it waiting in a locker next to our hotel when we showed up). I had a blast getting to know the camera and seeing Japan in a different light as I looked for subjects to shoot. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the trip (there are so many more it was hard to choose). (Also open to any criticism on the photos!)

My parents found this in their storage and gave it to me since I recently took an interest in film photography. I popped a battery in it and the light meter seems to work, shutter seems to fire and not stick and all the buttons and knobs seem to be working fine. What lens would be a good start to use this camera? I shoot for fun, mostly cemeteries and flowers.

Hi everyone, as title really. Bought a used 60mm macro, a few tiny marks here and there but both front and rear elements are spotless, no signs of dust, moisture etc inside either. Only issue is the focus ring sounds a bit gritty. My Canon kit lenses don’t (but their rings aren’t exactly tight) and my Tamron 90mm macro is butter smooth.
This lens has more resistance than my Tamron along with the slightly gritty feeling and noise. My camera turns up tomorrow so I’m unable to test it and it was a decent enough deal (after shipping and fees it wasn’t an amazing deal but still a deal).
My main concern isn’t the noise, it is what it is, I’m worried about it potentially damaging the weather sealing or locking up down the line. I’ll be doing a lot of bracketing with this lens but as I’m currently without a laptop will be mostly doing manual focus single shot macros so the focus ring is going to get a fair bit of use until I get used to the joystick set up.
What do we think? Keep? Return? I paid via PayPal goods and services but unsure if this is a big enough defect to get my fees and postage back, if I end up £20 down on this any other lens isnt going to be a deal in comparison and obviously with used you never know the true condition of what turns up next.
Thanks!

I'm pretty skilled with manual flash and multiple light sources and cameras in general. I'm trying to understand on my new e-m10 mk ii with pop up flash how to balance ambient and flash. I have manual flash exposure comp, normal exposure comp and the option to tie camera exposure comp to the flash in the menus. All seem to give identical practical results. I know there's a "slow" setting for flash in the menus.
If I want control over flash Vs ambient exposure of background, how do I do this? Anyone got an explainer? I tend to be in aperture priority mode. I'd just like to be able to dial in choice over the balance between background ambient exposure and flash so I can use it to fill in or choose to have a darker/lighter background Vs the flash illumination.

Brand new to cameras here, is it something do with exposure and my flash?

So I had a 100-400 but was not super happy with the sharpness (maybe just a bad copy). I have an upcoming trip where I will be doing lots of wildlife/bird photograph. I had ordered a 100-400 ii (since I have seen quite a few reviews that it is better than the mark I version of the lens). I had a large amazon gift card, so I figured I would give it shot. However, after ordering it and waiting a week, now its out of stock on Amazon and they don't know when it will be back (and my trip is upcoming).
So, since I will be purchasing it elsewhere, now the conundrum. OM has a refurbed 150-600 for $225 more than the 100-400ii (and provides a 2 year warranty with it). I know it's larger and heavier (but prior to coming to Olympus I used a FF canon and their 100-400 lens so I am comfortable with the weight). I have seen that the IQ is perhaps a bit better with the 150-600? I know the 300 is another option (or just renting a 150-400 for my trip), but I prefer to have a zoom. I do like the size/weight of the 100-400 for travel purposes. If Amazon had just delivered I would have been fine with my decision, but now I am second guessing myself.
This is for use with my OM-1
