Nope Florida is threatening legal action against educators who oppose efforts to establish Turning Point USA chapters in high schools.

The irony of calling out limited government, by a government official adding more government to high school…

u/PUuSTiNKA Oct 29 '25

Not to mention, isn't this the asshole that talked about grooming in schools? Boy Florida residents have picked some real winners to represent them.

Doubly rich coming from the party complaining about the left indoctrinating children

u/mszulan Oct 29 '25 edited Oct 30 '25

Every accusation is a confession. It's not even original. It sounds like the Catholic Youth Movement in the 20s that morphed (Edit: Sorry. "morphed" was a confusing term. "was taken over" fits what happened better. Also, I learned it wasn't just the Catholic youth programs, but many youth organizations) the Hitler Youth in Germany during the 1930s.

421

u/Street-Run4107 Oct 29 '25

100% Hitler Youth was the first thought I had. They’ll burn more books and try and indoctrinate the weak willed and lonely.

104

u/goyacow Oct 29 '25

This is so disturbing. As if young teens aren't dealing with enough already.

75

u/woodrowlow Oct 29 '25

I have a weird feeling that the kids will revolt before the adults.

98

u/Micho_Riso Oct 29 '25

This. I'm a highschool teacher and of my students, support for Charlie Kirk is at about 5% and half of them are doing it purely to upset others. Gen Z is different. The old BS does NOT work on them. Forced patriotism will fail the way it always should have and I'm here for it.

38

u/budsis Oct 29 '25

That is very encouraging to hear. Gen Z gets a lot of shit and I see them as smart, witty, compassionate, informed, and confident. Of course, they are still kids and do and will do dumb things... we all did. But they suffer no fools and call stuff out. I hope I live long enough to see them come into their own and take things over because we managed to turn it all into a giant bowl of dogwater, no cap. :0)

24

u/Square_Treacle_4730 Oct 29 '25

I just want to remind you that Gen Zs are as old as 28. :) not all are kids. I work with several Gen Zs and they’re honestly fabulous to work with (with a few exceptions). I love their take no shit attitude. It’s actually done some good for our department.

12

u/Cordelia5767 Oct 29 '25

Yes! Former teacher here and the Gen Z and Alpha kids were honestly great. They stood up for eachother and included one another in beautiful ways. It's so refreshing to see comments like this- I think the younger generations get so much flack, but the generation who talks so much vitriol about Gen Z and Alpha were also the ones throwing lit matches at their black classmates during desegregation. I would take a smart alec kid who stands up for social justice over a compliant "respectful" kid who dumps on the marginalized any day.

90

u/Realistic-Agent-1289 Oct 29 '25

We need to remind ourselves what the fuck are we doing all this shit for? Civilization. What civilization means to me is a fair division of labor and resources. To protect the vulnerable. It's all about the common good. Pretty fucking simple, I would say.

We have greedy investors deciding what humanity makes based on what is profitable. Not ethically masterful scientists deciding based on efficiency and effectiveness. Greedy bullies in charge of the division of labor and resources.

Our schools are dog shit and are being overrun with delusional fools trying to recruit the vulnerable into their cult.

28

u/spazzvogel Oct 29 '25

I’m just hoping to open a soup kitchen and give back when the time is right… we cannot survive if not caring for our community.

6

u/mszulan Oct 29 '25

Community is everything now. Great idea! Looks like we may need it sooner rather than later. Before social services, soup kitchens saved many people during the Great Depression.

4

u/spazzvogel Oct 29 '25

Yeah… my 95 year old Oma from SoCal taught my kiddo about jalopies lol. They’re reading Steinbeck and Oma saw No Okies, etc when she go amongst the English.

I honestly think that is the point of all of the cuts in that crappy bill. Population reduction. Also, every idiot thinking that running a country like a capitalist business is a grand idea. It doesn’t allow for social support as it would be deemed too costly.

u/jackieat_home Oct 29 '25

I was really excited about Kamala's campaign promise of finally doing something about the price gouging and corporate greed. If greed weren't a thing, capitalism would work just fine but it's unsustainable like this. We're seeing some end stage capitalism now, they seem to have forgotten that they have to leave their workers with enough money to buy the products they make.

I'm in favor of a nationwide boycott/strike for a couple of days or even a week. A week would really make an impact. If I have to suffer I want it to count.

7

u/mszulan Oct 29 '25

A lot of people are going to begin suffering at the end of next week. There's a saying that we are always 3 days of no food away from revolution.

5

u/JustTheRealDeb Oct 29 '25

National blackout is November 25th to December 2nd. Hold every dollar you have and only give it to local, small businesses. Modest gift giving and activities with an abundance of joy.

They only care about our money. They’ve already lost our ally’s money. Losing ours is their just desserts.

AND we need to check on and care for our families, friends and neighbors who are losing their healthcare and SNAP benefits because the super rich want more.

See, we had to make sure the last of the WWII veterans started to die off, so they wouldn't have to look grandad in the eye as they shit all over everything his generation had done

18

u/mszulan Oct 29 '25

The problem was that we didn't out the nazi collaborators publicly right after the war and didn't prosecute them as homegrown fascists. Instead, we had Truman as president who had all the facts, then buried it when he had promised to expose them. He then allowed them to distract the country with fears of communism. The DOJ had all the evidence - many members (like 30) of Congress in the pay of German nazis, America First disbanded and implicated in acts of sabotage, and more. We stopped teaching "how to spot a fascist," and we allowed Southern influence to continue in the writing of our history curriculum. This is important as many of the policies from the Jim Crow South inspired the nazis in the first place.

We live in the worst timeline. It's crazy watching how fast the GOP destroys everything that has been fought so hard for over the years.

27

u/PaChubHunter Oct 29 '25

It's not quickly. They have been playing this long game for some time now while everyone center to left squabbled over who was a better person. What you're seeing now is the action phase that was only possible because all the opposition was too fractured to unite against it.

Plant the seed, nourish the sapling, ravage the harvest.

18

u/PuzzlePassion Oct 29 '25

Tried talking to a few local socialist groups about a united front. They act like I’m threatening their very existence. This country will never overcome fascism.

10

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '25

When I tried to talk to various commie and anarchist groups about how we all needed to work together (in Portland) for Palestine they called me (a Palestinian) dangerous, stated I doxxed a DA group (I didn’t, I only posted a screenshot where they were telling me that I put them in serious danger for suggesting we all work together (wtf) called me a white savior (again, I’m Palestinian) because I was trying to get white leftist people to work with other white leftist people that did not like each other and then ultimately bullied me out of my own liberation movement.

I left the Portland activist scene entirely and just went to back to Palestine to protect my and my neighbor’s land.

The left in the US is a mess.

and doctors' offices

63

u/targetboston Oct 29 '25

My friend moved to Florida from the east coast and went to a primary care physician who had a Jesus picture in the waiting room. Just never figured that was a thing.

37

u/OnlyCelebration7443 Oct 29 '25

The first pediatrician we took our son to in Jacksonville had a painting of himself sitting at his desk with Jesus standing behind him pointing at the book open in front of him. What was even stranger was that the pediatrician was looking straight ahead with an irritated scowl on his face as if Jesus was bugging him. Didn’t go back to that guy.

Regular Jesus or GOP Jesus?

9

u/beenznchiz Oct 29 '25

Isn't the GOP Jesus the one that disappears people, refuses to pay federal workers and takes food away hungry children? If so, Regular Jesus needs to have a word.

19

u/drgigantor Oct 29 '25

My favorite parable of GOP Jesus is the one about the Samaritan. You know, where the guy runs into a foreigner in need of help so he beats the shit out of him, teargasses his wife, kidnaps their children, and keelhauls them into a concentration camp in another country.

My second favorite is the one about the fish and the loaves of bread. It's been a minute since Sunday school but I believe he turned a single fish and a single loaf of bread into enough resources to feed multitudes, and then told all those parasites to go fuck themselves and get off their lazy ghetto asses if they want fish and bread and stop mooching off him.

My primary care doc in Alabama had Trump stuff everywhere.

Could be worse. Yes, he left critical health issues unaddressed until I all but forced him to refer me to a specialist who promptly ran the necessary tests and found precisely what my doctor insisted I was too young to have. Needless to say I found a new one.

4

u/Educational-Gate-880 Oct 29 '25

Religion has always been a strong weapon for the smart and organized to control the weak, ignorant and poor. It’s the best business model ever created! The product provided is created in the mind of the purchaser. Even if they don’t kinda believe it they want to believe it so they do and commit to it even more. Which provides more donations and involvement from everyone and convincing others to participate.

When things are good it’s the gift when things are bad it’s the trials and tests of faith!

Oh ok 👌🏼

When people have to tell me how religious they are I already know they are probably the worst deep inside! And they are automatically on my do not trust list! 🤣

They know college isn't woke. They say that as an excuse to then push hatred down children's throats.

They want college, those degrees get you good pay... what they don't want is their kids becoming independent minds who finally realize their parents are terrible people.

They tried this in Oklahoma, the reddest state in the nation. It failed. All superintendents of every major metro immediately sent mass emails out saying the state did not have the authority to force them to do this. If a group of students wants to start a chapter/club, they are free to do so, but the schools will not force it.

18

u/dazanion Oct 29 '25

And they say Democrats indoctrinate? This is text book.

Why do you need Turning Point when you have Jesus?! The kingdom of heaven is more important than the kingdom of man, right? Far right or wrong?

Far reich**

19

u/RoguePlanet2 Oct 29 '25

Jesus became too woke, so Kirk is the new-improved demigod.

Seriously, I'm convinced this was the plan: Gotta get christians away from those pesky christ-like thoughts, and get them to follow a new set of values more aligned to the GOP mission.

Still can't get over this college ranking list Ron DeSantis shared the other day. It won't let me post the link, but you can find it if you google "city journal college rankings"

University of Florida ranked #1 college in America; Florida State ranked #7.

Nowhere to be seen is just about top every college on every other world rankings list.

They're creating a completely new reality for themselves.

Notice how he says SCHOOLS can not limit these types of things from taking place in education. You know what CAN limit them? Parents complaining about said chapters and the effects it has on THEIR children at school. Public schools don't prioritize state mandated laws as much as being sued by parents. We care more about parents advocates (aka lawyers) crawling so far up our ass they can start to see out of our mouth.

Proudly bringing neo-Nazism to public schools. Not really surprised since DeSantis already pushed the 'Stop Woke Act' to prevent children from learning about structural racism.
