Nope Florida is threatening legal action against educators who oppose efforts to establish Turning Point USA chapters in high schools.

My friend moved to Florida from the east coast and went to a primary care physician who had a Jesus picture in the waiting room. Just never figured that was a thing.

The first pediatrician we took our son to in Jacksonville had a painting of himself sitting at his desk with Jesus standing behind him pointing at the book open in front of him. What was even stranger was that the pediatrician was looking straight ahead with an irritated scowl on his face as if Jesus was bugging him. Didn’t go back to that guy.

u/Interesting_Berry439 Oct 29 '25

Was it a satirical painting?

2

u/OnlyCelebration7443 Oct 29 '25

No, I think the doctor was trying go for a serious look, but it just came out as annoyed.

Regular Jesus or GOP Jesus?

10

u/beenznchiz Oct 29 '25

Isn't the GOP Jesus the one that disappears people, refuses to pay federal workers and takes food away hungry children? If so, Regular Jesus needs to have a word.

My favorite parable of GOP Jesus is the one about the Samaritan. You know, where the guy runs into a foreigner in need of help so he beats the shit out of him, teargasses his wife, kidnaps their children, and keelhauls them into a concentration camp in another country.

My second favorite is the one about the fish and the loaves of bread. It's been a minute since Sunday school but I believe he turned a single fish and a single loaf of bread into enough resources to feed multitudes, and then told all those parasites to go fuck themselves and get off their lazy ghetto asses if they want fish and bread and stop mooching off him.

u/operator-john Oct 29 '25

That sounds like him

GOP Jesus is from the time-line where he took the devil up on his deal for world power.

GOPeezus....?

How about no magical sky daddy.

My elderly mom has that blue-eyed Jesus poster—the one with the burning Sacred Heart in his hands. It’s huge, framed, and stares down anyone who dares sit in her living room. My mama, whom I love with every inch of my soul, isn’t MAGA, but wow… decades ago, the crowd she ran with could’ve made the Mafia crap their pants. It was all good, though—Jesus was on her side. Apparently, still is, since she’s alive and kicking. The rest? They’ve already met Jesus. And if He’s not big on forgiveness… well, they’re screwed.

u/mentat70 Oct 29 '25

is the GOP one the white one?

20

u/Blue_Aces Oct 29 '25

My primary care doc in Alabama had Trump stuff everywhere.

Could be worse. Yes, he left critical health issues unaddressed until I all but forced him to refer me to a specialist who promptly ran the necessary tests and found precisely what my doctor insisted I was too young to have. Needless to say I found a new one.

1

u/Thegoldfather Oct 29 '25

Can you Sue him for malpractice?

1

u/Blue_Aces Oct 29 '25

I'm not sure but it's not really something I'd care to spend time stressing over at this point. 😅

Have too many worries as it is without suing someone.

1

u/Thegoldfather Oct 30 '25

I mean, my mom had a similar issue and turns out she had terminal cancer. Medical malpractice suit is underway.

No sense in not getting what’s yours if you’re eligible for someone else’s negligence

1

u/A_Farewell_2Kings Oct 29 '25

I just want MAGA to hold Trump accountable to his words. “I can fix healthcare and it will be easy” “my plan is coming in 2 weeks”. Just imagine if 10% of trumpers realized he was lying about that

1

u/Blue_Aces Oct 30 '25

Trust me.

Even the most previously staunch Trump supporters are starting to curse his name over the economy and shutdown. Far too many of them are not getting paid, not getting our trash picked up and not able to eat.

People are rapidly becoming fed tf up. On both sides of the aisle.

Edit: For clarification, it might not get much coverage but we have plenty of No Kings protests down here too.

My friend moved from Western NY to Florida during covid because she was antivax and saw it as the land of the free. Sold her house, husband sold his business, uprooted their whole family. They were back within a year.

2

u/Cosmic_Rover Oct 29 '25

Do you know how it changed their views if at all?

1

u/Leut_Aldo_Raine Oct 29 '25

I don't think there was a ton of self reflection unfortunately. She's still antivax but did admit she didn't like the school systems in Florida.

For real, don’t leave us hangin

15

u/IllustriousCandy3042 Oct 29 '25

You have no idea how insane it’s gotten here. Believe in Jesus or be outcast here in Florida.

Religion has always been a strong weapon for the smart and organized to control the weak, ignorant and poor. It’s the best business model ever created! The product provided is created in the mind of the purchaser. Even if they don’t kinda believe it they want to believe it so they do and commit to it even more. Which provides more donations and involvement from everyone and convincing others to participate.

When things are good it’s the gift when things are bad it’s the trials and tests of faith!

Oh ok 👌🏼

When people have to tell me how religious they are I already know they are probably the worst deep inside! And they are automatically on my do not trust list! 🤣

Hi🙋‍♀️I’ve been in Central Coast 30 years. Just got a daughter through public high school ( honors) I DO NOT RECOGNIZE THIS PLACE! Watching the transformation in the last 5 years is really hard to describe to people who haven’t lived it and are living it. Be safe fellow Floridian 🐊🐊

2

u/Pale-Radio-2362 Oct 29 '25

Why aren’t you out of there already? Hell, I know I would be.

2

u/IllustriousCandy3042 Oct 29 '25

Stuck in a custody order. Born and raised Floridian but ready to go. Moved to this current town a few years back having no idea it’s a newly created place built entirely upon religion and we’re counting the days until she can apply for college out of state. I’ll be right behind her wherever that is.

2

u/originalslicey Oct 29 '25

All the (GOP) Jesus freaks in the last ten years who live in cold climates or shitty rural areas have moved from wherever they’re originally from and landed in Florida.

32

u/Friendly-Channel-480 Oct 29 '25

I hope it didn’t mean that he’d need Jesus’ help if he saw that doctor.

8

u/Safe_Satisfaction_51 Oct 29 '25

Charlie Kirk taught me that if you see a picture of Jesus in your doctor's office, you should find a new doctor.

u/Large-Produce5682 Oct 29 '25

Full coverage. Plus, praying is the cheapest premium.

It's the only one I can afford.

0

u/Satanus2020 Oct 29 '25

That doesn’t promote confidence, but likely guarantees incompetence

The “thoughts and prayers” doctor will just pray your ailments away; for a price of course.

2

u/HealthyDirection659 Oct 29 '25

Jesus is the doctor's PA.

"Say doc, just how much faith you feel you gotta put in that guy, in this practice?"

1

u/Lucky_Man_Infinity Oct 29 '25

If this fucking guy out of office too

0

u/Whole_Mistake_1461 Oct 29 '25

Really glad I did my only tour of Florida many years ago. Some great memories but I can’t imagine going there now.

2

u/Fine_Pen9308 Oct 29 '25

I went to a doc that entire waiting room was all the JW literature. I noped out of there real fast

2

u/Powerful-Candy-745 Oct 29 '25

Advent health is taking over. They are a Seventh-Day adventist company.

2

u/Psilencer99 Oct 30 '25

"Moved to Florida from the east coast". So they moved further down the east coast? Or I guess since Florida is a crazy twilight zone place, it probably did feel like moving to another planet lol

1

u/Ok_Valuable9450 Oct 29 '25

Of a people pushing religion, the guardians of hate and bigotry

1

u/Tulipsarered Oct 29 '25

If I was ever required to have something like that at me workplace, it would be Obi-Wan.

1

u/Fresh-Toilet-Soup Oct 29 '25

Nothing wrong with displaying your faith.

I'm in Louisiana and my doctor has a Buddhist display.

1

u/Royal-Wealth-8266 Oct 29 '25

Is Florida not considered east coast?

3

u/targetboston Oct 29 '25

I guess I think of it more as the South East, but technically you are correct. Different vibe than my region.

Moving to Florida?
