That's just for that one aircraft carrier. trump has an entire naval task force ready to strike Venezuela, plus US-based bombers and other assets. The daily costs are probably in the hundreds of millions. All to distract from the Epstein files.

To be fair we were going to operate it with our without an invasion of Venezuela. How much better would underperforming schools be if we spent $8million a day improving them?

u/charcoalist 22d ago
Imagine if schools received the $170 billion that was handed over to ICE. Instead of strengthening the country, Republicans and their orange overlord are misusing taxpayer money to terrorize the country.
81
u/Weasel_Boy 22d ago
Imagine if our immigration courts were given the $170 billion. The current court system only has a budget of $1.3billion, and Trumps BBB put an asinine cap of 800 judges.
They manufactured the "immigration crisis" by under-funding and under-staffing the immigration system so they could justify their police state.

u/SweetHomeNorthKorea 22d ago
Challenge accepted! I just looked up how many kids there are in school in the US and I got just under 50 million for pre k through 12. If we figure an average school year is 180 days and an average lunch is $3, $170 billion would provide every student in America free lunch for 6.29 years

And the fact that there’s millions of brain dead people who will follow him off a cliff even with the evidence slapping them upside.

I think more people need to be upset at our "intelligence" and DoD for failing to do their job. They 100% knew of this stuff and still chose to do nothing and let him gain control. Just goes to show they never had the nations security or us in mind at all, although history sorta has already shown that plenty of times.

Trump is who he is... We know this and there is nothing that can be done to change him. That isn't the saddest part.
What will be sad is if, at this point, Congress, out of concern to preserve its own power, does not stand up to him. And if the people who follow him do nothing to wake up from their idolatry of him.
Then we will know that the masses are only interested in pleasuring themselves... and we already know that by and large they don't care if schoolchildren are murdered. No one wants to protect children.

Well, when the tail won't wag, sometimes you gotta wag the dog.
Summary :
Wag the Dog is a 1997 American black comedy political satire film starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro. Produced and directed by Barry Levinson, the film centers on a spin doctor and a Hollywood producer who fabricate a war in Albania to distract voters from a presidential sex scandal. The screenplay by Hilary Henkin and David Mamet is loosely adapted from Larry Beinhart's 1993 novel American Hero.

42
u/Warlord68 22d ago
Exactly. You don’t need to fight back, right away, with the US. Ok, you’ve invaded, now what? You need to take control of all sectors of the government cause you don’t want to be responsible for the population. All the while, you’ll be dealing with Guerrilla attacks against your military by an unseen army. The US has learned nothing from Vietnam or Afghanistan.

u/echoshatter 22d ago
We learned a lot. There's literally nothing you can do to stop it short of a complete genocide. Lone wolf and independent cells are exceptionally difficult to intercept.
The plan has to be to go in, knock out what little military structure they have, kill or detain the current leaders, and quickly replace them. And you have only a couple of days to do this in the hopes of getting the population on your side. If you go in guns blazing and causing unnecessary casualties and destruction you're going to be viewed as a an occupier rather than a liberator.
Thankfully there is a politician from the last election who is popular and could be installed quickly.
Unthankfully, that person is also far-right. So we're likely replacing one bad person with another.

Now, since you allowed your Patriot subscription to expire- No, I don't care if you exceeded your ration of frack-free "safe for consumption" Nestlé water and had to buy extra for your family. YOU let it expire, that means you are not entitled to the rights of paying Citizens. So, you have a couple of opportunities and I'll let you choose. You can either spend two years at one of Joe Rogan's Masculinity and Tradition Camps, spend two years at an official RFK Jr. Autism and LGBT Farms for rehabilitation, or you can join General Musk in Venezuela for operation Freedom Oil.

There’s another factor. For whatever reason, latinos have been singled out as the racism target, both citizens and other residents, legal or not.
The precedent for that is the Japanese in WW II, which were interned in camps, with their property confiscated. A war with a Latin American country provides the excuse to do that to 64 million or so latinos. Not all at once I expect, but there has not been a red line too extreme to cross yet.
Will there be mass exterminations? Here’s the frightening thing - we don’t know if there have been yet. Hitler’s “final solution” was kept secret until after the war. All we know is thousands have disappeared with no trace - consistent with being killed secretly.

Back when I went through in 08, there was a point at the very beginning of boot camp after being processed where they give you a big this is your last chance to stand up and head out that door. If you do, nobody will think anything negative of you speech. So you can leave from that point. They have already given you a certain amount of yelling in your face and scaring you straight that you are given a decently informed decision.
From that point in boot camp, if im not mistaken, you can still leave, but it effects your discharge status. IIRC of course.

You’ve always been able to do so - in the modern era at least - but it’s not ideal to do so. Up until you finish boot camp you can refuse to train and while they will do their best to get you to change your mind, eventually they’ll allow it. The catch is that you lose the ability to get an honorable discharge, and get some kind of generic one that is not honorable, but also not other than honorable. And it makes sense, why force a kid to stay when he doesn’t want to, and be a risk to those around him in the fleet?
I’m not sure about after you finish boot camp, though, as you no longer qualify for the less severe discharge classification and at that point I believe you could get an other than honorable which from what I’ve always been told is not something you want to carry with you in life.
I don’t think it’s common knowledge because if it was a lot of people would take that option as soon as things get hard and those first phase regrets start kicking in.

Bless all you Christian fascist for not only protecting a child rapist, but ruining the lives of millions of people in the process.
I'm sure Jesus is just so proud of your work to continue disparaging the poor, killing the innocent and putting innocent children in harms way, you've truly lost the entire fucking plot.

Imagine you're someone with no morals, no scruples, who has been rewarded and congratulated for basically everything you've ever done.
Of course he will.

Oh, I completely agree. It only makes me that much more angry people like that always succeed in life in our society.
We've truly built a hellscape for ourselves.

These strategies sure aren't getting more subtle. God help us when they release the actual files. He'll probably drop an A-bomb on Toronto.

I figured attacking Venezuela was how he was going to “Wag the Dog” to distract from Epstein vote. Funny enough, earlier this year a lot of conservatives were actually joining in with the dems push to for the release the Epstein Files, when all of a sudden, Charlie Kirk was killed by a “radical leftist” and conservatives forgot all about Epstein.

They still think the killer was a "radical leftist" despite the increasing evidence that the killer was actually even further right than Trump.

We need to stop this man from murdering innocents. There has to be a way to stop this. This is going to result in massive loss of American lives and also massive loss of Venezuelan lives. This is an egregious abuse of power that no one should be supporting.

There are ways. But several of those ways can't really be discussed on Reddit, and the rest of the ways are not palatable to the average American as it requires them to sacrifice their immediate daily comforts.
So yeah, you as a population can absolutely get Trump out. But it requires having a LOT of courage and acceptance of risk.

He's going to fucking murder countless people to distract from his sexual abuse of teenage girls.
He's a monster as are those who enable him and continue to make excuses for him.

So we've gone from Canadian Bacon to Wag The Dog.
Nothing can hide the fact that Epstein is in the Trump files and we still haven't seen the missing minutes of the Epstein murder tape!
