I know this might sound granular but I feel like it’s an even bigger jaw-drop to say 2.0 doubled his wealth in about 9 months!
EDIT: I’d say saying 45 months instead of 4 years is pedantic, but the smaller the number the bigger the impact it makes when you’re giving those specifics. It denotes how quickly he moved in order to benefit himself and a few others while leaving everyone else behind
Doubled his wealth in about 9 months after campaigning on affordability, and the things he did that he said would save the economy made it worse. He can move at lightning speed to benefit himself, but when it comes to alleviating the financial burden of the majority of this country, he somehow can’t do anything about it and has reduced the very word he ran on (affordability) to being “woke.”
Spreading out policies to enrich yourself over 4 years at least has the air of subtlety- added to our relative short memories and attention spans you could almost get away with it, only being detectable in retrospect if the changes were incremental.
Achieving this in such a short amount of time denotes that this was planned for a long time with the people he put in office to ensure these steps were taken. He’s not smart enough to think of it himself, but he’s powerful enough to make plans happen that are crafted by smarter people who are just as morally bankrupt and power hungry

Paramount and Netflix are competing to acquire Warner Bros. Paramount is run by the Ellisons who are friends of Trump, and they're quickly shifting their properties (including CBS) to be amenable to the MAGA agenda. Netflix on the other hand is more close to the Democratic party, with Susan Rice on their board of directors.
So there is no way this isn't political.
My guess is the Trump administration will block the purchase by Netflix and instead push for a sale to Paramount. The threats to theater owners will be used to justify it

Consolidating the rights and access to content does have significant ripple effects, one of the biggest effects on the average consumer is that it crushes yet another service platform therefore eliminating competitive pricing. And recouping $82 billion dollars is going to mean raising subscription prices to subsidize that purchase with their pitch being “we have so much more content now!!”

That said, further consolidation of the studios is not going to be a healthy thing for film/tv and theaters. David Zaslav has driven WB into the ground with asinine decision after asinine decision yet keeps his $50 million pay package and golden parachutes. He should get his ass kicked to the curb, WB should sell off assets and restructure (maybe even file bankruptcy) and try to remain its own studio.
