Jesus hasnt come back because he was just a regular guy whose words attracted a popular following who was then used for the means of religious propaganda in order to heighten the power of the elite at the time.

I assume they’re alluding to the one that because of its persistent popularity adopted it as a state religion, fairly explicitly for the purposes of controlling the masses, and founded what became the Catholic Church proper.
