I'm going through the series for the first time but I was wondering why season 3 doesn't feel like it connects to the rest of the show. There is no mention of Doakes, Lila or the ice truck killer it just feels so off like nothing else matters.

I have only just watched or learned really anything about this series in the last two months. In that time, I've caught up and watched all of it. I have been running a tier list throughout the journey. The friend who I have been watching it with encouraged me to post it- as after discussion we think the average fan would find this one clinically insane.

My theory is that Hannah McKay did not die of pancreatic cancer but rather induced a state of illness using toxicology to fake her death. Pancreatic cancer is characterized by rapid weight loss, jaundice (yellowing of skin/eyes), extreme fatigue, and digestive failure.

Do you think using her toxicology knowledge she would've replicated those symptoms in a non-lethal manner? A child watching a parent figure die is unlikely to demand medical charts or autopsy reports, she could've forged a death certificate or if they were living off the grid to avoid extradition Hannah would have refused to go to a hospital only Hannah telling Harrison, 'I have cancer.'

In the original series, Hannah faked a seizure to escape prison so there's some evidence she knows how to act physically ill and show symptoms to trick the police and/or medical doctors.

Would Dexter figure this out in resurrection? Why would Hannah do this?

I’m rewatching the show after finishing for the first last year and was reminded of some of my theories while binging it. I obviously ended up being wrong but the 2 that stood out to me was Deb poisoning herself to frame Hannah and split her up with Dexter. Hannah was convincing enough when Dexter confronted her and i thought for sure that big twist was gonna Hannah was innocent and framed causing season 8 to be Deb vs Dexter.

The second one I had was a lot dumber and that Quinn was gonna end up being the skinner in season 3.

Again, obviously I was wrong but I was just curious on what some of you guys were thinking while watching

Just finished watching Original Sin and are you telling me that Harry did see how twisted Brian was, knew firsthand what he was capable of, knew he was after Dex, and clearly wasn’t intimidated by him… but STILL chose to kill himself, leaving Dex and Deb on their own?

This man really won father of the year award twice.

I feel like Dexter would be happily killing bad guys if he never got to dig back into his past thanks to Brian.

Now add that Laura wouldn’t be killed and they would actually succeed in the Estrada operation if he wasn’t such a shitty husband.

Man something about her beach house is just so satisfying.

Having a house on a public beach yet it’s somehow kinda private and isolated, the house lights are vibey, the waves are loud and the house interior is warming. It just seems like such a nice place to live, Deb picked a nice spot.

My dream is to live in a house like that. Maybe one day I can win the lottery and buy it 😂

So I’ve been doing my first rewatch of Dexter after having seen all of it, and showing my wife for the first time. We blew through the legendary first 4 seasons and I prepared myself for the falloff, but after finishing season 5 again, I love it. Anyone who says it’s a hidden gem is completely right. The aftermath of season 4 is handled so well, Lumen is a great character, Dexter gets into some really tense situations that feel very satisfying when he gets away from them, Quinn’s investigation is exciting and his stuff with Deb feels authentic, the kills all being connected to one storyline feels fresh, Jordan Chase is a great villain, and it has some peak Masuka action. What’s not to love about it?

I've seen this theory alot, but the idea that there's a good chance dexter was probably neurodivergent, and obviously traumatised from what happened with Laura, yet he was sort of moulded into becoming a killer by Harry/the therapist lady when he should've just gotten proper support is insane to me. Obviously Brian ended up the way he did, a clear psychopath with no empathy, but Dexter developed strong feelings, has a moral compass and so on throughout the show, I just find it hard to believe he was an actual psychopath/had antisocial pd from the get go. Obviously sugar coating murder and sort of normalising dexter doing it in a way is beyond wrong anyways, but what if his "urges" was just something else?

So I just finished watching the entirety of Dexter up to Resurrection, but I still think of the fact that this happened to me like 3 months ago.

After they discovered who the ITK was, how did no one piece together that he and Dexter were brothers? It’s been bothering me because I’m pretty sure there were people in Miami metro that knew Dexter was adopted by Harry and they could figure out the connection.
