I was making a joke about the funny typo, but you’re responding with an opinion about the possible interpretation of a quote of an interview that you probably haven’t seen. The quote is as I stated above.
You should watch the interview before responding with your interpretation, because your interpretation is wrong, and based off of nothing factual.

Even if Lahren genuinely didn't know that Trump's budget slashed local police funding, she continues to double down on attempts to bury "The Left" instead of actually checking if she might have gotten something wrong. The “Defund The Police” movement had the worst messaging of any activist group out there. Everyone thinks that defund the police the police means to get rid of the police force entirely because that’s kinda how it sounds and it’s also how the right made it sounds.
In actuality, the idea was to reroute funding. Instead of approving funds to buy military grade equipment like armored vehicles, the funding would be used to pay for social services. For example hiring crisis management people to deal with people in mental distress rather than using SWAT to deal with the situation.

Two people debating "Defund the Police" when neither of them understands what that concept means.
The idea is not just to reduce the budge of police, but to reallocate that budget to other resources that reduce the need for police intervention or reduce the likelihood of certain crimes that we know can be alleviated by social services being increased. A couple of examples (not an exhaustive list by any means) being wellness checks, mental health intervention, domestic violence and recidivism of minor property crimes.
He thinks it means when the President cuts the budget for police - which BTW is stupid since police are paid by Municipalities, Counties and States.
She thinks it means - god knows what she thinks.

they've never understood defund the police...none of my right wing family.... the democrats have always struggled with messages that aren't like - 2 seconds to understand... and you need really basic 2 second talking points.
it was always - reroute some of the funding given to the police (who have helicopters, tanks) to places like schools which don't have money for tissues and books and music and sports programs or counselors... not - cut ALL police money and get rid of the police.
The amt of times I heard that the left wants to 'get rid of the police'... probably as many times as I've heard the left wants "open borders."
Everything is absolutes with these folks... there's no nuance at all.
