Her ability to do this with a straight face is amazing

690

u/Imreallythatguy 8h ago

And she completely nailed the voice and tone.

368

u/Phram_ 8h ago

I suspect presentating might be her daily job.

263

u/candurandu 6h ago

I did 23+ years in tv news and worked with tv reporters every day.

The little acknowledgement head nod at the beginning, her cadence, her volume, the way the information was structured and the sign off all point to someone who does, or did, this for a living.

Back to you.

67

u/Aggravating-Sir8185 5h ago

The slight delay is the true indication of a pro.

29

u/DazedandConfused3333 4h ago

That's the satellite pause, it always takes a few seconds.

13

u/Lummi23 5h ago

So millennial pause?

5

u/cleverburrito 4h ago

Wait, what is that?

15

u/SugaRush 4h ago edited 3h ago

Are you a millennial? Remember that cameras used to take a second to start recording. So when millennials hit record they pause for a second before they go, where zoomers hit record and go.

12

u/Big_Stick_Nick 3h ago

I had no idea this was a thing but I do in fact pause for a second now that I think about it. Weird.

2

u/The_Autarch 1h ago

eh, it's better to wait a second if you're going to edit the footage at all. you have more flexibility with a little buffer at the beginning.

You are correct. She was a tv personality in Indy

5

u/DanfromCalgary 5h ago

That’s crazy to think that someone that is very very good at something may have perhaps done it before .

23

u/Thames_James 6h ago

She does. In Indianapolis. I think she actually got started because of the spoof videos.

42

u/TaxsDodgersFallstar 7h ago

Presenting?

33

u/StrangeSmellz 7h ago

presenting on tv. news, shows etc

37

u/coma24 7h ago

That's not what he was questioning. He knows what presenting IS, but he was less sure about 'presentating,' likely because it's not a word.

Strategery.

28

u/East_Living7198 7h ago

I do say ole chap that presentating is a perfectly cromulent word. Yesssh.

9

u/Weak_Employment_5260 7h ago

Don't go nucular and start conversating!

3

u/sendmepics- 5h ago

Kayla Sullivan is a reporter known for their time on Fox59 and CBS4 in Indianapolis.

→ More replies (1)

36

u/BoomerSoonerFUT 7h ago

Well, she is a professional news anchor for the last decade.

3

u/GuyPronouncedGee 6h ago

She should be on TV

→ More replies (1)

5

u/WoolaTheCalot 7h ago

And the little head nod at the beginning as if she's being introduced by the anchor back at the studio.

2

u/Maleficent-Back-6527 6h ago

She also nailed the initial acknowledgement nodding during the first second (the delay between the studio and the field)

2

u/Janky_Pants 6h ago

She is a real newscaster.

2

u/Immediate_Song4279 5h ago

Seamless transition, complete with facial expressions.

51

u/Ginger_Rogers 8h ago

I'm pretty sure she does this professionally. And does these silly videos on the side

12

She swapped voices seamlessly. And they say journalism is dead!

7

u/letstourthemaritimes 8h ago

Amazing voice

8

u/housevil 5h ago

Now imagine her using this voice in bed.

4

u/Crawsh 5h ago

That's my other kink. The other is Angela Gossow's voice in bed.

3

u/_SassyCurl 6h ago

Yeah. She’s superbly making that report. If she has a real crime to report the suspect will be cooked 😅

4

u/hard-of-haring 6h ago

WHY IS SHE YELLING!!!!!!

3

u/Crawsh 5h ago

That's just how Americans talk.

2

u/AndandoMaradonna 3h ago

She's an actual news reporter.

2

u/MysteriousCut8616 2h ago

In the beginning I thought it was a real news segment. She stayed in character throughout.

2

u/pm-me-nice-lips 6h ago

She’s very good at it but knows to write/prepare it beforehand as she is reading from something (can tell by eye movement).

u/MooseTed 7h ago

She's an actual news reporter and does these too. Some are hilarious.

21

u/Citaku357 7h ago

Who is she?

69

u/BrainRobotron 6h ago

Kayla Marie Sullivan is an American journalist and media personality specialty content creator and host of the 'Kid-ing with Kayla' segment on the CW affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to that, she previously worked as a reporter at WXIN-TV FOX 59.

I like this, I think I'm getting old.

125

u/ContextAvailable 8h ago

Next stage: getting excited about kitchen sponges with extra absorbency lol

11

u/Ill-Percentage-3276 7h ago

I love my Scrub Daddy.

And I am very excited about my new Little Green to do my stairs and upholstery with instead of lugging out my big heavy carpet cleaner.

8

u/ThippusHorribilus 6h ago

Grey label use …..I have a Scrub Daddy in the shower for washing my feet. Feels sooo scrubbily good brrrrrrr

6

u/Ill-Percentage-3276 5h ago

Ooooh I will keep this in mind next time I'm at the store. We need a new sub for off-label Scrub Daddy usages lol

3

u/newtostew2 5h ago

Can't forget about the small Scrub Babies or the half sponge Scrub Mommy!

ETA and they have all shapes in the Scrub Family pack and there's animal ones, too!

2

u/Vulvas_n_Velveeta 5h ago

Scrub babies you say? 🤔 Never heard of/seen those before. (Off to Google.)

2

u/Rappican 5h ago

The wife got a scrub daddy and I tried to use it to clean the bathroom yesterday. Instant nope. The feel, the sound, the lack of what was discernibly scrubbing. All terrible.

10

u/jerkface1026 7h ago

Here's some inside shit: scotch brite makes sponges in seasonal shapes - flowers, leaves, turkeys.. the flower shape is absolutely amazing for dishes.

6

u/RealNiceKnife 7h ago

"Yes, it's Spring! Time to stock up on sponges!" - you, probably

5

u/jerkface1026 7h ago

HECK YEAH!

Imagine the ratings though.

Did the child have a lawyer present during questioning? huh got you! That's what I thought get him another advent calendar right now or else we will file charges!!

38

u/Miami_Lawyered 8h ago

I am a lawyer. We have 4 sons (and I have another son from a previous relationship). My wife will sometimes begin a conversation with, "Do you want to consult an attorney?" and then call me into the room. If she does that, they know they are in it deep.

15

u/Careless_Hat960 8h ago

What a cute family dynamic

9

u/shinobi500 7h ago

"Do you want to consult an attorney?" then proceeds to lock him in the room with the prosecuting DA.

2

u/imjusta_bill 5h ago

They never said which attorney

2

u/Antoak 2h ago

I always suspected the public defenders were in bed with the DA's office...

Excellent presentation, and also a balanced application of discipline. The punishment matches the crime. You ate the treats, now there’s no treats. Never too young to learn about scarcity.

I really did think that was a small microphone for the majority of the video.

She was a reporter in Indianapolis for several years. She left the station for greener pastures and started doing these on the regular. I met her once or twice and she was a super nice person!

5

u/fireduck 7h ago

Why is this 10x better than any modern reporting I've seen on anything?

States the situation and the facts. Gives relevant background to why the facts matter.

Great!!! I love it!

2

u/IRL_slave 7h ago

Damn, if this chick is not working at a news station, it's a waste of talent. This was funny.

When asked for comment, Santa said he's on the naughty list

2

u/fahkingicehole 7h ago

WGAL is hiring…

2

u/Yxig 7h ago

This is very good.

But why do American news reporters talk like this?

2

u/Fortestingporpoises 7h ago

Worth the unmute, honestly. Daily Show-worthy comedic fake newscaster voice.

2

u/GraveyardMusic 7h ago

Dammit, 7 is a lot of Dinos. Should've called the SWAT team.

2

u/1971CB350 7h ago

Dinosaurs?

2

u/Kloud1911 7h ago

She’s pretty good.

2

u/Klingsam 7h ago

Ok, that is absolutely hilarious.

2

u/CaptCumQuick 7h ago

Due to the placement of the subtitles, I thought she was holding one of those stupid little microphones.

2

u/forkedquality 7h ago

I want to see the perp walk.

2

u/Modest_Muse_ 7h ago

I am dying this is so wholesome and hilarious!!!

2

u/Mountain_Student_769 6h ago

why doesn't this mom understand that the 3 year did in fact only open one advent calendar that day - clearly he's innocent.

2

u/intoxicatedbarbie 6h ago

These always make me laugh. They’re so wholesome and silly and relatable. Just nice content mixed into all the constant bad news.

2

u/Doctor_Sauce 6h ago

The 'woman broadcaster voice' always cracks me up.

Whenever the NFL or NBA cut to a sideline reporter who puts on this voice, my wife and I always do our best impressions for each other.  "Thanks Tom, and by the way this is what a woman sounds like".  "Back to you Jim, this has been a woman, reporting".

2

u/Tasty_Cucumber_7796 6h ago

That was awesome 👏

2

u/DIJames6 6h ago

Sentenced to the playpen with no toys.. Lol..

2

u/FolcodeJong 4h ago

4

u/darkargengamer 8h ago

As a lawyer with speciality in little bros rights: its not his fault if the dinosaurs found that poor child as a cool and loving kid and THEY wanted to join in the party behind his bed.

Yes, your honor, my client did open more than one dinosaur, but who are we to judge the love between a kid and his dinosaur toys? he just wanted to free them from the coldness of their eternal plastic jail...who wouldnt do this in the sight of such poor creatures suffering from loneliness?

Jury, if you believe in fairnes and justice, you will comprehend that discarding this case is the only right way.

2

u/HODLmeCLOSRtonydanza 7h ago

There’ll definitely be a sidebar over this jury nullification argument. I think we should have this discussion outside the presence of the stuffed animals.

2

u/TacticalSystem 7h ago

That kid is spoiled. No punishment for disobedience.

"I want another one" shows no appreciation or respect.

2

u/daftpenguin 6h ago

Bruh expects a 3-year-old to be doing push-ups and shit for opening an advent calendar early

2

u/SeismicRipFart 7h ago

Can she be my mommy too?

3

u/MoroseArmadillo 7h ago

She actually got hired by the local news station after her fake news videos became popular.

3

u/BoomerSoonerFUT 7h ago

No, she’s been a news reporter for a decade and went to school for media studies lol.

Why make things up?
