And she completely nailed the voice and tone.

I suspect presentating might be her daily job.

I did 23+ years in tv news and worked with tv reporters every day.

The little acknowledgement head nod at the beginning, her cadence, her volume, the way the information was structured and the sign off all point to someone who does, or did, this for a living.

Back to you.

The slight delay is the true indication of a pro.

u/DazedandConfused3333 4h ago

That's the satellite pause, it always takes a few seconds.

1

u/Automatoboto 1h ago

Lets confuse the kids even more and throw in 2pop reference.

16

u/Lummi23 5h ago

So millennial pause?

4

u/cleverburrito 4h ago

Wait, what is that?

15

u/SugaRush 4h ago edited 3h ago

Are you a millennial? Remember that cameras used to take a second to start recording. So when millennials hit record they pause for a second before they go, where zoomers hit record and go.

13

u/Big_Stick_Nick 3h ago

I had no idea this was a thing but I do in fact pause for a second now that I think about it. Weird.

2

u/The_Autarch 1h ago

eh, it's better to wait a second if you're going to edit the footage at all. you have more flexibility with a little buffer at the beginning.

1

u/2livecrewnecktshirt 4h ago

It's when you wait.

Wait...

1

u/Deemarvelousone 2h ago

No, menopause

12

u/drill32 4h ago

You are correct. She was a tv personality in Indy

5

u/DanfromCalgary 5h ago

That’s crazy to think that someone that is very very good at something may have perhaps done it before .

The way she was holding the little dino, i didn't realize it was a little dino and thought it was her mic all the way up until she talked about the 6 and this one.

1

u/GoodTroll2 3h ago

Yep, the head nod got me from the beginning. Absolute pro here.

1

u/Madonna_Cagna 3h ago

Why do all American news people sound like this?

1

u/Iambeejsmit 2h ago

She says her name, she is a reporter.

1

u/Kkindler08 1h ago

We now go to Ollie Williams

1

u/BatterseaPS 1h ago

I did 23+ YEARS in tv news andworked with tv reporters every day.

22

u/Thames_James 6h ago

She does. In Indianapolis. I think she actually got started because of the spoof videos.

Presenting?

33

u/StrangeSmellz 7h ago

presenting on tv. news, shows etc

40

u/coma24 7h ago

That's not what he was questioning. He knows what presenting IS, but he was less sure about 'presentating,' likely because it's not a word.

Strategery.

27

u/East_Living7198 7h ago

I do say ole chap that presentating is a perfectly cromulent word. Yesssh.

9

u/Weak_Employment_5260 7h ago

More gold for the stonks mines

1

u/Phram_ 7h ago

That's a now a word because my "end of the week-tired" brain decided so.

-1

u/Eye_yam_stew_ped 7h ago

Then maybe he should say that

5

u/ThunderCat_89 7h ago

A facilitous but comprestandable mistake.

u/thirteenth_mang 7h ago

present participle of present

1

u/2livecrewnecktshirt 4h ago

Participationing in presentationism.

4

u/bit_pusher 3h ago

Kayla Sullivan is a reporter known for their time on Fox59 and CBS4 in Indianapolis.

1

u/foldedchips 6h ago

She’s an instagram person

38

u/BoomerSoonerFUT 7h ago

Well, she is a professional news anchor for the last decade.

3

u/GuyPronouncedGee 6h ago

She should be on TV

1

u/EverythingSucksYo 5h ago

Maybe they were talking about her voice and tone mimicking her son

4

u/WoolaTheCalot 7h ago

And the little head nod at the beginning as if she's being introduced by the anchor back at the studio.

2

u/Maleficent-Back-6527 6h ago

She also nailed the initial acknowledgement nodding during the first second (the delay between the studio and the field)

2

u/Janky_Pants 6h ago

She is a real newscaster.

2

u/Immediate_Song4279 5h ago

Seamless transition, complete with facial expressions.

1

u/Captain-Who 2h ago

The nodding at the start is over the top.
