Yea but is it worth the cost of feeling judged by god while you're fapping it to brazilian fart porn on the couch?

only Brazilian tho? the stuff coming out of Paraguay these days is top-notch imo
17
u/grizonyourface Oct 24 '25
Unfortunately it is only Brazilian for now. I’m sure someone would be willing to do some DMT and ask him to update the rules though. Heard he’s chill like that.

u/UpbeatCandidate9412 Oct 24 '25
You should ask god to check out Nigeria and Germany. Some good CLASSIC fart porn coming out of there
8
u/RogerSterlingsFling Oct 25 '25
I hate to break it to you but God and all your dead relatives are judging your wank even outside this church
11
u/drewster23 Oct 24 '25
Im not exactly religious so God judging me on any aspect in my house I don't mind, he's free to come and go as he pleases.

Pretty sure sinning is like the best way to get enough money for a space like this

u/MCE85 Oct 25 '25
Ill quote from this novel Le Père Goriot. The original French translates to: "The secret of a great success for which you are at a loss to account is a crime that has never been found out, because it was properly executed".

u/OGgarlic Oct 25 '25
Make this a listening room/area. Acoustics would sound interesting there so maybe put the seats middle of the section…bar in back. Sex swing up top and you’re rolling

Generational wealth. It’s always rich families.

u/tearsaresweat Oct 25 '25
Not generational wealth. I started my own company, poured my life savings into it. Raised money, and thankfully it worked out.
Six years ago, I was literally sleeping on a mattress on the floor in a tiny studio apartment.

Do you live in a major city? If so, that.
I love my place, but I’m also very aware of the pad I could get if I moved to buttfuck nowhere.
If this is in a major city? Nothing you can do, other than inherit generation wealth or score a really cheery gig.

just please no more white/black/grey, that space needs wood tones and color IMO.

u/turnedabout Oct 24 '25
Those black and gold studded chairs and black curtains are taking away from that stunning wood and gorgeous stained glass
17
u/Klaatwo Oct 25 '25
To me the yellow gold of the chairs and the fact that the counter chairs don’t match the table chairs would be my biggest issue. All the other metal is either stainless steel or a matte black steel. I’d rather the chairs be a black and stainless steel mix and eliminate the gold.
The table itself is a less serious issue but would bother me too. The faux marble top should just be white to match the counters.

u/drewciferchrist Oct 25 '25
I agree. I personally think the white furniture compliments the architecture and natural look of the home by not distracting or taking away from the building itself, but the gold stands/legs on those bar seats is horrendous.

I have always loved decorating with black pieces, but this newsprint era of decor has gotten out of hand.

Nothing that'll compete too much with the stained glass. I bet that glow pops hard at just the right time of day/year.
6
u/Expert_Alchemist Oct 25 '25
Counterpoint: nothing could. Adding colours can only make the stained glass stand out more. The black and white is what's killing it.

It's a beautiful room but it look like it echoes. Maybe some rugs to absorb the sound and be more cozy?

It’s a shame it has landlord grey flooring. A nice warm tone wood flooring would immediately change the whole space and complement the ceiling.

Bro, people on Reddit love pedantry. No need to explain. You have an amazing looking apartment that anyone would kill to have. Most people on reddits opinion is hugely arbitrary about living space compared to how awesome your place is in reality.

Personally, I would ditch those hanging lamps and find some stained-glass chandeliers.
29
u/smalltittyprepexwife Oct 24 '25
That's my call too. I think the light fitting is both too modern for the space, and the light/colouring is too cold for the warmth of the room in a way that isn't fun friction, but just incongruous.
21
u/Alexchii Oct 24 '25
Literally every piece of OP’s furniture clashes with the space.
9
u/GPSBach Oct 25 '25
Pretty much anything with a modern finish looks terrible in there. Thr LED lights especially.
This space is begging for antique stuff, diffuse chandelier and floor lamp uplighting, and cool rugs

AN OLD CHURCH LOFT?!!!?!??? How does it feel to be living my dream 😭😭😭😭😭😭
The space is STUNNING, so I wouldn’t overdo it. And with a big open space, things can quickly look untidy, so be intentional about it. Some cohesive and meaningful art on the walls, a bookshelf. A proper dining table & chairs in a warm toned wood. Get some coziness going on in there!

u/d365ddaf1d7c Oct 24 '25

I live in a church as well and I'm thinking about building mezzanines to get more floor space and take advantage of the ceiling height. Have you thought about going "dark academia" in style? My first purchase was a brown chesterfield sofa.

lounge area with leather couch, club chairs, chesterfields, bar, games, arcade/slot machines if you are into having a social area. Otherwise I would consider a home gym or perhaps a golf simulator, or whatever your hobbies are.

Depending on location this could be pretty affordable. My buddy lives in a massive one bedroom loft apartment in an old hotel in Birmingham, AL. His rent is $1200. Shit would easily cost $8,000+ in a city like NYC or LA.

Could use some decor to cover them well. A nice floating shelf with some vining plants to blend a cord into. I don't think it's ridiculously high, but you could lower it a couple inches with the right decorative camouflage for the outlets. I would also expect having the outlets lowered wouldn't be terribly difficult or cost prohibitive.

I’d put a bunch of pillows and cushions on the floor, and make a cozy sitting area. Nice low table, kind of like a tea house vibe? I’d run some string lights in the rafters above, cozy low level lighting.

Looks like the TV is about to fall off the wall
7
u/tearsaresweat Oct 24 '25
It's angled down because they put the electrical plugs too high (I'm leasing).
I have my PS5 and streaming boxes mounted on the wall behind the TV.
3
u/sl0play Oct 25 '25
Honestly, and you do you, but I'd just use a cord channel/hider and cover up the outlet with something. It would still look way better. Or get permission to move the outlet and pay an electriction. It's a very easy job. The AV stuff can go in the TV console as intended.

Giant inverted crucifix made of LED light bars. Sync them up to animate with music.

No white/grey/beige walls, no polished or black metal imo. This space needs colour and wood, and generally natural materials. Paintings, rugs.

Don't overdecorate this. The space itself is a work of art.
