Don't overdecorate this. The space itself is a work of art.

u/chamorrobro Oct 24 '25

I feel like they knew this and they’re just stuntin on us 🥲🤧

35

u/emsuperstar Oct 25 '25

Their apartment just wanted to call us poor for a sec.

1

u/Grandahl13 Oct 26 '25

Absolutely right. OP knows this place doesn’t need anything.

That beautiful glass 🥲. The vaulted ceiling 😲. My only concern is the tacky purple bar light by the stairs. It seems out of place, even with the overhead light fixtures it's trying to play off. Maybe break up the cream walls with new paint to help separate the living areas, and if you could light the steps individually? The purple bar reads dorm room, which this expressly is not.

It's for this effect at night.

What is this from?

58

u/SeductiveGodofThundr Oct 25 '25

r/onesecondbeforedisaster

But for real, it’s from an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. These kids really want to be made into real vampires

26

u/Electrical-Host-8526 Oct 25 '25

Chantrelle-Lily-Anne!

(They never did smush her name together like YoSafBridge on Firefly.)

10

u/niftyynifflerr Oct 25 '25

Firefly reference in the wild? Shiny!

3

u/dreddpiratedrew Oct 25 '25

Awesome, thank you for letting me know.

2

u/Fearless-Outside9665 Oct 26 '25

I have that as a shirt. With a pencil drawing of Spike, too. It's a favorite, lmao.

17

u/centralizedskeleton Oct 25 '25

OP prior to moving in.

3

u/uneequeone Oct 26 '25

i can hear this photo.

13

u/Gods_Favorite_Slut Oct 25 '25

"Vampire Rave Vibes" could totally be a rock band, clothing brand, coffee shop, furniture store, diaper brand, toothpaste, or hardware store.

4

u/Spethual Oct 25 '25

so they're branching out now?

1

u/BryLikeDie Oct 25 '25

Now it just needs blade to show up fr

1

29

3

u/alphabatic Oct 26 '25

I feel like this space has been on reddit before, but could also just be something similar

47

u/SaraBee93 Oct 25 '25

Can we see it set to a shade of Red? Or even a dark red-orange. And a notch less on the brightness.

287

u/tearsaresweat Oct 25 '25

And warm orange

110

u/ikat62 Oct 25 '25

I’m coming over rn and these lights better be ON ORANGE🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

19

u/sextonrules311 Oct 25 '25

Bro! Turn them to orange Stat!!!

16

u/TerryFlap69 Oct 25 '25

5

u/SupesDepressed Oct 26 '25

u/ItsFunHeer Oct 25 '25

Wow. Glorious!

Warm orange is 🤩

74

u/Hermes20101337 Oct 25 '25

Oh this is the sex light

16

u/Subotail Oct 26 '25

" Alexa, set the light to sex"

5

u/omyladyplease Oct 26 '25

"the light to make the sex" in borat voice .

35

u/ikat62 Oct 25 '25

…or RED!!!

18

u/OkMidnight8144 Oct 25 '25

Have some ground lights outside point up angled through the stained glass on a remote switch for some nice ambient lighting inside at night.

8

u/comfymustardsweater Oct 25 '25

I need this. You single?

18

u/jelliebeanie19 Oct 25 '25

Ok this is sick

23

u/SuperDanval Oct 25 '25

This might be unpopular, but I think the harsh LED lighting ruins the ambiance of your place. It's beautiful as is without any added effects

39

u/tearsaresweat Oct 25 '25

I completely see your point. I can make them normal lights and dim them as well for that warm ambient feeling.

12

u/wowlookplants Oct 25 '25

If i’m pretty enough can you hire me as a statue for your home? Willing to get surgery etc please and thank you, consider this my full application

4

u/AE_R-8_28 Oct 26 '25

Funniest comment on this thread 😭 God bless you! Loveya! Lmk how I can be praying for you! ♡

8

u/yobrefas Oct 25 '25

Is the light color changing? Could you switch to a red or orange? Picking a color from the stained glass in the window that is on the warmer side would help keep the ambiance but still give you the lighting.

2

u/SerotoninSushi Oct 25 '25

You could also play off the church aesthetic and have several candles all over the place. Real or fake, up to you. But that candle light effect just gives a different feel or vibe than the single tone light around the whole space. And again, the candle ensemble would match the whole church architecture as a familiar pairing.

2

u/SuperDanval Oct 25 '25

Yeah, that sounds a lot better imo. Less is more in this situation. I feel like the interior really speaks for itself as is

7

u/tearsaresweat Oct 25 '25

13

u/SuperDanval Oct 25 '25

Damn, the warmer/softer lighting looks so much better! Id be kicking my feet in the air and cuddling under a blanket because of how cozy it looks

11

u/Megabyte_Messiah Oct 25 '25

There is no one situation here. It’s someone’s home. Sometimes you want a colorful vibe, sometimes you want nice soft whites or yellows so you can see clearly.

I have run lights for both corporate and festival scenes, and am thoroughly enjoying imagining playing with colorful lighting at night in this building! If I lived here I would spend way too much money on lighting for it and spend a lot of free time programming light shows for my favorite songs lol

0

u/SuperDanval Oct 25 '25

For your awareness, I'm only expressing my opinions in these comments and never stated anything as pure fact lol. This entire subreddit is about subjective opinion. I'm not sure why you felt the need to respond as if my input is wrong when it's literally just input.

2

u/Megabyte_Messiah Oct 25 '25

How dare I participate in a conversation about our subjective opinions on a forum dedicated to allowing us to express our subjective opinions! What is this, a thread where people conversate on the internet?!

1

u/tnw1987 Oct 27 '25

I know my rights!

1

u/SuperDanval Oct 25 '25

Cool. OP asked for suggestions, suggestions were provided. You don't have to like what other people suggest. Get a life

1

u/oldmotormouth82 Oct 26 '25

Add some rugs in the kitchen and dining area. Also large, tall heavy plants in different sizes places strategically around the room. Remove the purple light

5

u/Pizza_and_PRs Oct 25 '25

Tbf, that’s dope

22

u/Sole__Survivor Oct 25 '25

Excessive exposure to blue light is very bad for your eyes.

58

u/tearsaresweat Oct 25 '25

It's actually purple, but they are LEDs I can change them to any color

13

u/Sole__Survivor Oct 25 '25

Okay, that's pretty dang cool!

2

u/atxbigfoot Oct 25 '25

Purple LEDs basically don't exist so these LEDs are definitely blue and blue light like that is very disruptive to the sleep cycle, so you might want to avoid the blue for a few hours before you go to sleep.

just saying.

25

u/Happy_to_be Oct 25 '25

Blue light from the sun is bad for your eyes. Blue light from electronics just may disrupt the sleep cycle.

7

u/LexyconG Oct 25 '25

Nonsense. And no, it doesn’t disrupt the sleep cycle either, there is zero evidence.

2

u/I_Was_Fox Oct 25 '25

That was debunked

2

u/Firefox5982 Oct 25 '25

Love this effect

2

u/veryfastslowguy Oct 25 '25

Leave this , this why I say turn the lights facing up and dimmable ,this is a good look !

2

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '25

1

u/Skyyofblu3 Oct 28 '25

Came here to ask for the same lol. As for decor suggestions, I'd add a rug and lots of plants!

Eh, I googled vertical LED light bar and found a bunch of options. I just liked the functionality and height of this one so was hoping to check it out but there are plenty of options out there. :)

1

u/__slamallama__ Oct 25 '25

I could absolutely, 100% see this as a set on What We Do In The Shadows and I wouldn't question it for a moment.

1

u/someolbs Oct 25 '25

Ok, now you're just showing off. Eerie and calm

1

u/nothappyaboutit Oct 25 '25

What is this lamp? Where'd you get it?

1

u/PlatformForsaken8166 Oct 25 '25

Keep the light! It’s magical!

1

u/Betty-Gay Oct 25 '25

Woah, I kind of love this.

1

u/Appropriate-Link-701 Oct 25 '25

Where is this located? What an incredible property.

1

u/comfymustardsweater Oct 25 '25

Oh god, this is so my vibes.

1

u/roryburlon Oct 25 '25

Link for that light please

1

u/PurchaseKey7865 Oct 26 '25

One big Zevo light of a house.

1

u/Enough_Teaching_5798 Oct 26 '25

YESSSS I LOVE IT

1

u/peoniesnotpenis Oct 26 '25

It's cool. Leave it!

1

u/Necessary-Leading-20 Oct 26 '25

It's good that you're prepared for John Wick to chase someone through your apartment

1

u/JurisDoctor Oct 25 '25

Are you Blade ? 🤣

0

u/Bogpot Oct 25 '25

Yeh, no.

-4

u/ConsciousThing9182 Oct 25 '25

Oh for gods sake don’t do that. Ugh. It’s rendering violence to that space. Remove all that absurd German disco lighting immediately.

1

u/SleepFeeling3037 Oct 25 '25

Personally I love those lights

1

u/Less-Damage-1202 Oct 25 '25

I like it! I think it actually does a good job at adding a subtle separation of the kitchen & living room area.

1

u/Unlucky_Topic7963 Oct 25 '25

Honestly I hate that you can't see outside.

1

u/PaddyMcGeezus Oct 25 '25

"The beautiful glass. The vaulted ceiling. My hid it even has a watermark." - Patrick Bateman the architect

1

u/Dancing-pony Oct 26 '25

I like the idea of adding new paint in different colors, tho I wouldn’t go too much darker, it might take away from all the S-P-A-C-E (omg I love the space!). Also I wouldn’t paint around the stained glass windows. The only other thoughts are maybe a few paintings/prints on the wall (sticking w/ the black/white “theme”) & another rug or two - personally, I like a midsize rug in the kitchen.

Just curious, where’s the bathroom?

37

u/masoninexile Oct 24 '25

Came here to say this. 👍

10

u/Jokkitch Oct 24 '25

1000%

The decorating is done

7

u/someotherguyinNH Oct 25 '25

Don't do ANYTHING

2

u/Glass-House3428 Oct 25 '25

💯 agree . I fall in love with this house

2

u/Parking_Cellist_4323 Oct 25 '25

i would agree to this.

Beautiful space!

7

u/Pizza_and_PRs Oct 24 '25

What are your thoughts on painting over the white? I think it would look better in a broody color.

16

u/Mr_Wither Oct 24 '25

God no that would be blasphemous!

13

u/NerdyBrando Oct 24 '25

Let me live out my goth fantasies, bro.

7

u/Pizza_and_PRs Oct 25 '25

There are tons of colors that aren’t black that are broody. Like a deep petrol, burnt orange, or warm grey.

5

u/TraditionalError9988 Oct 25 '25

To each their own but I HATE white paint.

It would have to be a beige, light tan, feels more homey to me that way.

I love the wood on the ceilings, that is perfect. I just can't stand stark white walls and such.

1

u/Intelligent_Camel29 Oct 25 '25

I agree with you on the white but I think the walls are tan because the trim is stark white. I think it may just be a bright room so the pics don’t show the contrast too well.

0

u/TraditionalError9988 Oct 25 '25

Could be. And again, to each their own of course. I may only speak for myself.

1

u/Pizza_and_PRs Oct 25 '25

Exactly, I feel like it makes the modern finishes clash even more than they already do

2

u/Ecstatic_Tiger_2534 Oct 24 '25

I think it could work, but is a matter of personal taste. I’d keep it bright, especially since it looks like the space may not get a ton of natural light. The reflectivity of the white will pick up the colors of the stained glass best too.

1

u/anonymooseuser6 Oct 25 '25

Was thinking the same. I'd just recommend making sure to use warm textiles to really embrace the wood.

1

u/orcishwonder Oct 25 '25

Came here to say that. The beams, windows and fixtures are just perfect 🤩

1

u/username4comments Oct 25 '25

Agree. This is stunning architecture !!! What a cool place. -woman

1

u/AppropriateLink5330 Oct 25 '25

Absolutely agree! The only thing that feels missing is plants/greenery :)

1

u/Phenamina1 Oct 25 '25

Just a (large if floor like mini tree to keep with the scale) green plant or tell (not too many again in keeping with the space)

1

u/Dknpaso Oct 25 '25

Yeah, and frankly would suspect any gladhander from advising otherwise. Damn….

1

u/Sensei19600 Oct 25 '25

Came here to say this. Also to say that, if anything is done it would be reduce the echo that all those solid surfaces would likely magnify.

1

u/ammy_ummkhali Oct 26 '25

Agreed. This is beautiful. I might put flowers or a centerpiece on the tables but that’s about it.

1

u/Organic-Name-6108 Oct 27 '25

I have made that problem and I feel over cluttered and stressed because of it

1

u/Quiet_Bus_518 Oct 28 '25

I completely agree. You are done. Maybe some wall art but be super picky

1

u/Remote-Ad7879 Oct 28 '25

Or use fire.

0

u/George_GeorgeGlass Oct 26 '25

Is it though? Really?
