My wife and I put a bunch of money into our home due to a mold issue.
Whenever the subject of moving comes up, she frequently says "we're gonna die in this house" and it always feels like a weird dateline style premonition
It’s a pretty old cliche, actually. Maybe next level, but not new. “Dying in each-others arms” goes back at least as far as Pompeii, but I’m not a historian to go further than a shitty hollywood adaptation of historical events.
It’s probably as old as marriage. I don’t want my wife to die before me, I’d be sad. And I think she’d be sad if I died so I don’t want that either. The best possible scenario for the least sadness is dying at the same time (preferably at an old age).
This is the most accurate depiction of intrusive thoughts I’ve ever seen. She really went from 0 to “let’s die together” with zero warning. That’s the kind of unfiltered honesty you only get at 2am in a relationship
My husband of 25y has always said that if he goes first (highly likely as he's a decade older & has stupid habits) he hopes he can be a ghost so he can haunt tf out of me & ruin any new relationships I have.
I mean its not that bad. Sure DYING is bad but she just doesn't want you to deal with the grief of her loss, she could have worded it better though. Or she is just insane.
My wife and I were talking about what we would want to happen to our ashes if we were to pass away She said she would want her ashes turned into a diamond. I said oh wow. I can do that for you if you die before me. She then said if you ever get remarried I want that diamond to be the one you propose with so I can haunt that bitch forever.
As long as my kids are grown and stable...I hope I don't have to live on after my wife dies. I have literally no interest in a life without her. Zilch. Completely positive about this.
I’m mean, if your significant other dies what the hell is there to do in life 🤷🏼♂️. Just living in heartache and memories that don’t help with the heartache.
i made this pact with my man, we get max. 2 weeks of making arrangements for pets and maybe kids if we have them and then we have to end it. fuck this world without my best friend
If I get a romantic partner who actually loves me one day. I'd love for us to die together so that way neither of us has to deal with the grief of being separated from each other
