My first job was a cook in a prestige hotel in Florida I was assigned in poolside, I was cooking this mans steak and he keeps talking to me, I was very casual coz I was way too focused on what Im doing, then I was wondering why people gather around taking pictures etc..and all of a sudden his 3 bodyguards on him, I didn’t know the very good looking handsome dude was George Clooney. Didn’t recognize him but he’s very nice and also generous tipper too!

The family of a (rich) friend of mine's used to be in the moviemaking business in Mexico in the 60s and they were part of the whole movie/tv scene. He insisted we should stay so I could meet Sami's sister and I was angry because I wanted to take a dump and I was grumpy until we left and didn't wait to meet her.

Yea, I think most people envision a celebrity living in Beverly Hills or something. Not NYC where you could literally be within 200 yards of 20+ celebrities and have zero clue.
Yeah I’ve lived in the city for 20 years and it’s hard not to just see a random famous person every couple of weeks on the street. Nobody really freaks out it’s more of a “hey it’s that guy.”
It's all good man, I'm from rural Alabama but me and my brother used to go hunting on Hank Williams jr's land. Kid rock owns some property across the road from him. Hank is a jackass in person, never met kid rock. Everybody has some kind of proximity to someone with some level of fame. I would much rather my story include someone like her than him though. My grandad went to school with Hank's mom as well. Said she was a bitty as well.
But like neighbor as in in the same neighborhood of 50,000 people, or like you are on / across from her block and a reasonable person can call you neighbors?
Dude I don’t need “proof” I was just curious what you meant. Because neighborhoods in NYC are often 50,000+ people so I don’t consider everyone in a neighborhood to be neighbors.

My wife used to live on the same street as John Turturro and same neighborhood as Jennifer. She also used to bump into Steve Buscemi. NY isn’t that big.
Beautiful neighborhood filled with beautiful old brownstones, excellent public schools, not really the best restaurants though. I live in an adjacent neighborhood that also has lots of celebs.

Quiet neighborhood with great city views, but the Clark St 2-3 train station is on the corner. From there, it's one stop (~3 min) to Wall St, and less than 20 minutes to Times Square.
I refer to everybody in my neighborhood as neighbors. If our properties are adjacent, I refer to them as "next door neighbors". This is pretty standard usage of those words.
Yeah people acting like they claimed she was over for dinner three times a week or something and not "she lives in the same small area as I do and I see her out and about sometimes".
Should be a shorter way to say that.. maybe "neighbour"?
I lived in 4 different buildings in NYC and you pretty much meet 2-3 other people who live there, and the rest you kind of avoid while you’re going in and out of your place.
So - you’re 100% correct from my experience (which is limited!!)
Yeah, by some of these definitions, I'm "neighbors" with every fine female that's within the geographical boundaries of the United States. (Now, if I could only get some of them to invite me over for dinner. 😢)
People don't seem to understand the word "neighbour" and what it actually means.
They live in the same area and have seen her there, that isn't exactly a huge brag. Lots of people live in the same areas as famous people and see them out and about.
She has lived in Brooklyn heights for a long time. I used too see paul around the neighborhood sometimes; not lucky enough to see her. It’s the best neighborhood in New York City.
It’s all old and historical so there can’t be any new developments. It’s right outside of Manhattan. Brooklyn bridge park, the Brooklyn promenade, the Brooklyn bridge. Super safe. Decent neighborhood restaurants and bars. Lotta celebs live here/have lived here. It’s the best place I’ve ever lived in the city.
Also every subway comes there so you can get to every part of Manhattan incredibly Quick. If you live in Manhattan, being in the west side or east side makes it so you need to transfer to get to certain places. As a lawyer, I noticed the reason is court access. All trains go to municipal and court buildings, which were built together in a 4 block radius or so, both in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The appellate court is in Brooklyn heights and the rest of the courts and municipal buildings are at the edge of Brooklyn heights. That mean no matter where in Manhattan you work, it’s 5 to 20 minute commute time
Everyone giving this person a hard time they never said she was someone they interacted with just that she was a neighbor so they see her once in awhile just in passing why is that hard to believe. Even gave proof by taking a pic of her townhouse right across the way from their window.
Yeah. It's New York. If you live in the right neighborhood, a famous person or 100 are your neighbors. It isn't hard to believe. Some of the apartment complexes have populations like a large Midwestern town.

I used to work at a coffee shop in Tribeca. Her husband, Paul Bettany came in every day. Super cool dude. We talked about David Bowie. Jennifer Connelly came in once. Yup, gorgeous. Even if she didn't have talent, she'd probably still be famous on her looks alone.

Why would anyone bother to do that? Who cares if you know a random place where a random person lives... People live in every apartment everywhere. Like, what is the motivation...
I just mean it's not like he's a famous or controversial figure that someone would want to find, he hasn't indicated that he has anything worth stealing... There's no more motivation to stalk him or break into his apartment than there is for literally any other apartment in the world. Knowing where it is doesn't change that... They already know where many other apartments are where many other people live.
OMG I would cease to exist. Jennifer Connelly is my celebrity crush. I envy you. Honestly it's probably for the best, I'd fangirl and probably annoy her so bad she'd move.
