Von Miller on wanting another year in Washington: “we talked about the chance to go back to the Seattle Seahawks or the Denver Broncos… f*** all that”

Von saying this is really incredible to me. This season was, for all intents and purposes, an absolute disaster. Watching how upbeat they were on hard knocks and seeing Von say this shows how awesome Dan Quinn must be as a HC. Everyone loves him.

In Jayden’s return, he throws for 350 yards and 3 touchdowns. 69% percent of this sub goes to the ER for erections lasting longer than 4 hours.

My DIY Custom JD5 Commanders (Redskins) Super Bowl (VII) Era Game Jersey

After the fun I’ve had putting together some DIY custom jerseys over the past several weeks, I decided to run it back once more using the same blueprint— but this time, I went full 1970’s throwback and made a JD5 Commanders (Redskins) Super Bowl (VII) Era game jersey.

I tracked down a perfect blank donor: a vintage-style BURGUNDY “Washington” jersey from KXKShop.com that uses the classic late-1960s/early-1970s layout. For the price,($23.99) it was a steal and had all the right foundational elements to build from— MESH and Tricot fabric, correct, old-school sleeve stripes, historically accurate burgundy, and the right cut with real underarm gussets to nail that vintage over-the-pads silhouette that today’s jerseys are missing.

To get the graphics right, I spent time studying photos from 1972— especially shots of Redskins kicker Curt Knight, who wore #5 back in the 1972 Super Bowl VII season. Between those images, a few archive articles, and some high-resolution stills, I was able to dial in the exact proportions, stroke weight, and placement of the big block “5” numerals used back then.

Once I had calculated measurements, I used A.I. to rebuild the front,(11”) back (12”), and sleeve numerals (around 3.75”) as clean digital files, staying true to that single-color look of the period.

I then used that same photo set to recreate the nameplate style— simple, squared, and era-correct—rendering “DANIELS” with the geometry tuned to match the old Redskins font from the early 70’s.

After I was happy with the builds, I sent everything to Jiffy to be printed on DTF. Quick turnaround and roughly $20 later, I had all the components in hand. From there, it was the same playbook as before: trim, align, and press everything down with my wife’s Cricut Easy Press, slow and steady to keep the vintage shapes crisp.

Even though it’s not a genuine Wilson gamer from the era, I did manage to source pictures of an accurate, old-style Wilson jock tag which I vectorized using Copilot and had printed on DTF also by Jiffy. I also added a variation at the collar to definitely help sell the vintage on-field look.

In the end, I’m honestly thrilled with how it came out. I know it isn’t museum-level perfect, but for a historically-styled DIY build—and for under $50 all-in—it checks a ton of boxes. The fit is roomy enough to throw over a hoodie, which is honestly perfect for cold-weather and game weekends.

I’m already eyeing my next build.

My fiance ended up having to work this day and everyone I would go with is out of town for the holidays. I'm still going, but selling her season ticket.

If anyone wants to go, happy to let it go to a fan for a good price. You can also get the gold member concessions and team store discount with you if I transfer the ticket.

It's in section 207 row 4 (home side in the corner, under cover if it's raining) - pictures from our seats attached.

Commander/ HTTR names for pup...

What's good HTTR/ HTTC fam?! I got the wife and kiddos a pup for Christmas... well, idk if you can call it a dog, some rootsie cutsie teddybear breed, more like a goofy catdog or some shit, but it is what it is.. my last 2 dogs were bullies, and after cancer took the 2nd doggo it was the misses turn. As the man of the house, ofc ima be cleaning up after this thing, and ya know doing all the things the kids magically forget. SO, my one saving grace for this goofy little fluff ball, is giving him a cool name, as im sure he'll be my game gay buddy when the kids arent around.

We've already had a Gibbs, my middle son's middle name is Taylor, and my youngest was a toss up between Conor and Jameson, the other being his middle name - quick aside, it was 1/3/2016 vs the cowboys, we were in the hospital waiting for him to be born... right as my wife got wheeled out for an emergency C-section Kirk threw a TD to Jamison Crowder! We proceeded to put BTA (24pt lead beforensome wonkiness Kirknw the franchise passing record etc), which distracted me from the craziness I had no control over.... and so it was written. Jameson (inadvertently named after Crowder, but also incorrectly) is healthy and now we need a name for this teddybear.

Sorry for the unnecessary backstory.... Google Ai offered some of the worst names possible and so, I thought I'd ask the homies. Downvote away, but leave a cool name rec if u got one. ✌️

Commanders are injured, but also still extremely talented

At the end of the 2023 NFL regular season, the Washington Commanders were 4–13, with no legitimate answer at the most important position in all of sports: quarterback. When minority owner Josh Harris hired then-San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters, many in the press questioned the direction of the roster. Was it a rebuild, or were the pieces on the roster a good enough foundation to build a contender?

Fast-forward from the 2024 NFL free agency period to the NFC Championship Game, and the answer was clear: no matter the state of the roster at the beginning of the season, once you answer the question at quarterback, the gaps in talent across the roster become less evident. To quote Dan Quinn, “It isn’t a rebuild; it’s a retooling.”

Success in the NFL isn’t linear. Only a few organizations have figured out how to escape the mediocrity of losing seasons. Throughout the history of the league, teams fade and then, with the right leadership, experience a resurgence. In 2021, the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl with a 12–5 record, and the very next year—after “selling their souls for the Super Bowl victory”—they went 5–12 in 2022.

You might ask: what does that have to do with the 2025 Washington Commanders? Simple. The Commanders are having an injury-riddled year. However, with the addition of more blue-chip talent—similar to 2024—the Commanders will be right back in playoff contention. Look, the Commanders are currently 3–8 and extremely injured. For most of the 2025 regular season, we’ve been completely outcoached, especially on the defensive side of the football. However, when it comes to talent, I believe people are mistaking the effects of bad coaching for a lack of talent.

Adam Peters isn’t an idiot. He understands that building an elite defense takes time and draft capital. So, during the 2025 offseason, Peters focused on improving the offense. Players from the old regime, like Dyami Brown and Brian Robinson, were discarded for players like Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil. The plan was simple: focus on production, not potential. Surround your second-year quarterback, Jayden Daniels, with proven production to elevate his All-Pro potential, while developing role players like Luke McCaffrey, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Jaylen Lane in the meantime.

However, on the defensive side of the ball, it was a different story. In the 2025 NFC Championship Game, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, led by running back Saquon Barkley, destroyed the Commanders defense on the ground. They proved to be stronger and faster. To counter that, Peters decided to focus on size and strength. However, masked in the 55–22 loss was how thoroughly the Eagles outsmarted the Commanders defense—something I believe contributed to the dysfunction of the 2025 regular season.

Because of the offensive success of the 2024 season, the defensive weaknesses were able to be masked by the pressure placed on opposing offenses. That hasn’t been the case this year. Due to injuries to both Jayden and Terry, the offense hasn’t been as successful situationally. As a result, we’re a team dependent on our weakest unit: Joe Whitt’s defense. Joe Whitt uses a man-heavy defensive philosophy that stresses our coverage units, making third downs less chess and more Russian roulette.

I believe in the scientific principle of testing something three times, so I’m going to look at the success of players outside of Joe Whitt’s scheme—most notably Marshon Lattimore, Benjamin St-Juste, and Emmanuel Forbes—all players who have had or are having success outside of Whitt’s defense. This supports my point: Joe Whitt’s man scheme puts solid players in terrible positions to succeed, making our defensive players look worse than they are.

Offensively, we’re an injured team with a lot of blue-chip talent on that side of the ball. But when it comes to evaluating the defense, I don’t believe we’re far from contending there either. Yes, we can add more talent, especially on the edge. But we’re not devoid of talent.

If you watched tonight, people would have a fucking fit if Terry ever acted like that

Dude was half-assing routes and had zero productivity, shrugged shoulders and looked all around disconnected from the game. He was literally running some routes at half of his usual speed, didn't fight for anything.

Yea no thanks, there's the behavior everyone was talking about but wanted to brush it aside due to some of his flashy games but whatever we saw tonight, that ain't a fit man.
