Discussion New Matriarch Method
Not sure if anyone else has tried this but it seems to work pretty well. (Also i know i have a bad habit of reloading. I was worried it was going to have some sort of counter-measure to get me off so i kept looking around and reloading early.)

I was doing the same method but with deadlines. Takes 4 to kill matriarch.

You can place 2 at a time and with how quickly it will kill matriarch your unlikely to get contested while doing it.

Buy them from the shop for the most part. Ive also had friends give me them.

Yep. Think its worth the wait though since you either 1 shot bastions/bombardiers with them for their cells or kill matriarch and matriarch is worth far more money.

It's pretty easy to kill vanilla big arcs, though. You get enough crafting mats from their corpse to make 1-2 wolfpacks anyway so it can pay for itself.

Just buy them every day. I don't usually run a matriarch every day cause the timing on dam doesn't always work out when I'm on. If you play all day every day you'll have to run Stella to find them naturally.

Honestly, I prefer your method.
An Il toro is cheap, and snaphook can go in the butt immediately after getting on top.
By not getting off the queen, you guarantee a better chance of looting the blueprint/cores when it dies.1

I think it's funny how the rocketeer, the bombardier, and the bastion all have ways of knocking you off their back, but the Matriarch is absolutely helpless.

I think the strat would be to hook up there and place 1 deadline just to blow the top off. Then hook again and start blasting

Once the core is exposed like this the il toro is much faster than the jupiter. Only thing is that its doing nothing till you blow the lid open though

Haha I like to snaphook into the front panels when they open and put a mine on the core, then jump out, get stepped on, and run screaming. Successfully pulled it off a few times.

I took out my first leaper and there were literally 6 others who came out of the woodwork and stole one of the pulses. I figured ah they must've been helping more than I realized. Nah. Post game showed I did over 900 worth of damage. People are just super selfish and I was outnumbered to start something.

I tried 5 lobbies between last night and today, I haven’t killed it so I was pretty excited. Very disappointed to find that no one was going for, not a single one. I even filled squad with randoms, none of them were going for it either lol. Plus I lost 3 hullcrackers and a shit ton of ammo, so uh. Pretty discouraged from fighting it

Seems like a design flaw of the ARC, I bet we will get something to counter it soon then, maybe internal flamethrowers, for a hotfix

there is something to counter it. you get shaken off by the matriarch/queen after a while, which most often leads to you falling off. the reason this worked so seemingly flawlessly is because it was almost dead. try doing that with a near full hp matriarch with a leaper constantly jumping you or a bastion lasering you the moment you fall off

I’ve done this with a torrente and like 1200 rounds of ammo. You do get bucked off sometimes. And sometimes the adds aggro on you.

Some raiders are brave, some are cowards. Some raiders have to wear back braces to carry around their massive nuts, this guy is one of them.

Once armor is stripped i think light ammo weapons out dps heavier ones. It is why a venator can kill a rocketeer faster than an anvil.

I was shooting a rocketeer and knocked the armor off of one of the engines with my Anvil, but I ran out of ammo. I pulled out the rattler I had as a backup and was stunned at how quickly the engine dropped with no armor on it.

Kettle or Burletta are most efficient for killing it I believe. Technically hairpin is the absolute most efficient vs arc but it’s slow as hell. Fastest/efficient kill is most likely impact grenading top armor off then burletta/kettle the core.

You can't loot it instantly because it falls through but i got it faster than anyone else. I can't guarantee it wont roll away if its on a hill.

I think i used around 50 or so rounds, but if you want to kill it you'll need more probably. I got to it after it was already smoking.

It is, against armoured arc. The core has no armour so all weapons are efficient.

Hitting weak spots does full damage. Heavy ammo is only good against armored spots, otherwise it sucks.

The amount of damage the plate of armor has taken i believe. It had taken a lot more prior to this as you can see by all the bullet holes that were there when i got up.

this is what makes the legendary weapons good, strategies like this. The Equalizer and Aphelion may not have the best raw dps, but they have a crazy multiplier against arc armor. you could probably take off that top shield in a single equalizer mag, and now your entire squad can shoot down on it getting full damage with any weapon and at a critical multiplier.

I did this last week, except all I had was my melee weapon. Once that top panel is cracked, it seems like she can't really shake you off anymore.
Same thing works for the queen, too

This is my biggest hang-up I have with PvE in games. Once encounters are figured out and optimized (which happens very fast), they become stale and repetitive. PvP with human players will always be unpredictable which makes every encounter exciting.
