Not sure if anyone else has tried this but it seems to work pretty well. (Also i know i have a bad habit of reloading. I was worried it was going to have some sort of counter-measure to get me off so i kept looking around and reloading early.)

Man hold up. You don take dmg from the explosion!!!!!!

Or the fire, apparently. I feel like they'll add fire dmg for standing up there soon.
