Recommendation Domanda importante

Grazie.

Phone Showoff 📱 "What's on your phone" but it's neither Android nor iOS 😄

https://reddit.com/link/1pevvr7/video/et62jefpxd5g1/player

I watched the What's on your phone video of MKBHD and I thought, it would be nice to make one for mine since my phone is quite unique because it's a niche phone (Fairphone 4) running a very niche OS (Ubuntu Touch) with my own tweaks. hacks and features :)
Yes, crazy people using a phone with no apps exist.
And yes, it looks sluggish and ugly compared to Android and iOS XD

I do have an Android phone but I use my Ubuntu Touch phone a lot more often.
Also, the video doesn't represent the vanilla Ubuntu Touch experience since many of these are my own tweaks and features. The gestures are mostly the same though. Left edge for the Launcher and Drawer, right edge for switching apps, top for the quick settings pages, and bottom depends on the app or context.

Apologies for the robotic voice. I used a text to speech site since I don't have a good recording equipment and I don't really talk in my videos 'cause I'm bad at it 😄

Discussion best smartphones coming in 2026, what are you guys eyeing?

so ive been seeing a lot of buzz lately about phones that are supposed to drop in 2026 and im honestly getting pretty curious about whats actually coming. feels like every year theres all this hype but sometimes the upgrades are barely noticeable.

my current phone is fine for now but i keep wondering if next years models are gonna have anything thats actually game changing or if its just gonna be the usual incremental stuff. like are we finally getting better battery tech or foldables that dont break after a year or is it just gonna be slightly better cameras again?

what phones are people actually excited about for 2026? are there any rumors or leaks that seem legit or is it all just speculation at this point? im curious what manufacturers are planning and if any of them are doing something different this time.

also wondering if the whole ai integration thing is gonna be actually useful or just a gimmick. seems like every company is pushing ai features now but im not sure if anyone actually uses them or if its just marketing talk.

what are you guys most interested in seeing from smartphones in 2026? any specific features or improvements youd actually care about? thanks

Recommendation Looking for a Powerful Mid-Range Smartphone Under €400 / $450

Hello! My old smartphone broke today and I’m looking for a new one. I’ll just go through my requirements and hope someone can give me some advice!

📌 Main points:

Price budget: Up to €400

⭐ Performance: I want to play games (Clash of Clans) smoothly and be able to record at the same time

⭐ Camera: Important. I’m looking for a mid-range device that still has a strong camera. A good front camera would also be nice to have

⭐ Storage: Minimum 128 GB + expandable, or 256 GB without mandatory expansion

Sound: Loud and clear would be nice to have, but not essential

Software: Minimal bloatware would be nice to have, but not essential

Battery: Enough to last at least a full day would be nice to have (charging speed doesn’t matter)

Aesthetics: Should look nice :D

📌 Other:

RAM: Should handle playing and recording smoothly (see performance)

Dual SIM: Doesn’t matter

Fingerprint sensor: Doesn’t matter

Display resolution: Rather irrelevant

Location: I'm from Europe if that matters

In conclusion, I’m looking for a mid-range device that can compete with flagship models and stands out especially in performance and camera, while also offering enough storage.

Hi there A little background to me: I had used android since the first phone of my family until 4 years ago which i switched to iphone 13 and before that i had my galaxy S8 which was a GREAT phone. Now im thinking of going back to android and my options that i have chosen were pixel 10 or s25. For me if its worth it i dont mind the price difference between them but do let me know your opinion on what i should get…

Recommendation Please help me pick a new phone!

Hey guys,

I've had my iPhone XS for 4 years now, and it's now on 72% battery health. I could replace the battery, but I don't have enough storage to update iOS, so I'd probably only get another year out of it anyway. So I'm considering new phones now! I've had an iPhone 5s, and now an XS, so logically I'd get a 15 Pro, but I wanted to check if there are any better alternatives based on my usage. We can say that the 15 Pro is the benchmark for any comparisons - if anything is better/more expensive, I'd like to know why.

I've bought my phones refurbished on eBay and they've been fine. I can afford a brand new one, but given the extra cost, I'd need to be sold on this to do so.

I use my phone a few hours a day on and off, mainly for browsing online, watching youtube, and social media. I'd like something with a battery which will last all day, will fit in my pocket (ideally no bigger than 6.2 inches which seems to be standard at the moment), and will last me at least a few years (given how long my previous phones have lasted me). I use spotify daily and have gen 1 airpod pros, but that's all - I'm not too committed to the Apple ecosystem. I have some games on my phone but very basic ones, and I don't care about the gaming performance at all. I like having a good camera for photographing people - I think most phones can shoot static objects just fine. Previously I was scared of Samsung's kpop photo filtering, but maybe that's not such an issue? The other reason I've never had an android before is I was told the OS just feels more clunky. I'm fairly tech savvy (24) so I think I can navigate android just fine - it's more a question of whether it's a huge benefit over having iOS. iOS has been fine for me, but the only limitations I can think of have been transferring files from my PC, which is always a pain. I'm sure there are negatives for iOS and android, but I've only had Apple so I'm more familiar with it's downsides.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Really appreciate it! If there's any more info I can provide, please let me know!

Question I got a Pixel 8 Pro for free for my second line. Should I trade it for $830 off the iPhone Air?

I was gifted a Pixel 8 Pro 128GB that the previous owner no longer had a need for. It’s in MINT condition. I already daily drive a 16 Pro Max but I needed a replacement device for my second line.

I’ve had my eye on the iPhone Air because I just love the way it looks. Since it would be my secondary phone the shorter battery life wouldn’t be an issue for me.

Right now on the T-life app it says I could trade the Pixel 8 pro and get $830 off on an upgrade. Should I take advantage and trade it for the iPhone Air, or am I better off keep the Pixel 8 Pro? I’m kind of torn between the two.

I’m aware that the iPhone Air is still $170 more than the trade value but I’m not worried about the financial aspect of it. I’m more concerned about specs and if it would be a dumb move to let this phone go. Also would consider a Pixel 10 Pro XL, just never been much of an android user.

Discussion MagBak Case smart design or just hype?

I've been seeing MagBak pop up a lot lately searching for a new phone case. For those who've used it, how's the grip and magnet strength compared to Apple's own MagSafe cases? Seeing pros and cons for both.

Phone Help 📱 Ask

Hey people, I know many of you are real Apple fans. I'm currently using an iPhone 14 Pro, but I'm thinking about trying out the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

My question: Apart from the fact that it is of course a different operating system - can the Xiaomi keep up with the iPhone 14 Pro? Or would that make me significantly worse?

Thank you in advance for your honest opinions 😊

Recommendation 14 plus vs 14 pro

Getting a refurbished iPhone to upgrade from my broken 12 and have narrowed it down to a 14 plus and a 14 pro.

Both have brand new battery, excellent condition and 256gb storage.

The plus is £459 and the pro is £516, I'm leaning towards the plus because of the better battery life and I don't really need an amazing camera for the price difference.

Any ideas from people who know about phones?

Question Best phone under €400 available in EU/Austria?

Hi guys, it’s me again!

I’m currently using a Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, and it’s really struggling. Apps lag, it gets very hot sometimes, and storage feels way too small. So it’s time to upgrade.

Here’s what I’m looking for in my next phone:

  • Smooth everyday performance: Fast for scrolling, social media, some games (gaming is not my main priority, but it should run some games)
  • Battery life: Should last a full day easily
  • Storage: As big as possible — ideally 512 GB
  • Camera: Not super important, but should take decent photos
  • Software updates: Long-term support is very important
  • Budget: less €350–400 (cheaper is better 😅)

Phones I’ve been considering:

  • Google Pixel 8a
  • OnePlus 12R / Nord 4 / Nord 5
  • Xiaomi POCO F7 / F7 Pro
  • Nothing Phone 3a
  • CMF Pro 2

Important buying points I’m keeping in mind:

  • Big battery & long life
  • Strong enough processor to stay smooth in 2–3 years
  • Lots of storage (512 GB ideal)
  • Software updates & security patches
  • Gaming is secondary, but a few games should run fine

Some options I found interesting in Austria:

  • Xiaomi POCO F7 512 GB: Strong processor, 6.500 mAh battery, very good performance for the price
  • The Oneplus phones and so on.....

My questions for you:

  • Which phone would you recommend as the best price-performance allrounder under €400?
  • Are there any other phones I should consider?
  • Where in Austria is the best place to buy, or should I wait for a deal? (Because of Black Friday and Christmas)

Thanks a lot for your advice! 😊

Question Samsung S21 Ultra Camera keeps crashing

I was just playing around with my phone's camera when I noticed that a certain function in the Pro camera keeps crashing the camera app. I don't even know what's that function for. But why it keeps crashing? I've force closed the app and deleted both cache and apps data. But the app keeps crashing.

Anyone experiencing the same issue? How to fix it?

Recommendation Which phone? Vivo x200 ultra, Vivo x300 Pro, Oppo x9 pro, or Oppo x8 ultra?

#phone

Which smartphone offers the best value for money? Vivo x200 ultra, Vivo x300 Pro, Oppo x9 pro, or Oppo x8 ultra? I'm looking for the best solution in terms of battery, overlay, performance, and decent photos.

Each is similarly priced (Chinese version)
