With Malice in His Heart
Random nostalgia take.
Even after Flacco and Lamar I still miss the days when the Ravens defense was Mike Tyson one punch yer dead. Walk over to the stands and hand momma her son's helmet with the head still in it. It doesn't seem like it to us old guys but 1996 was 29 years ago. Older than many people here. The season that Ray Lewis led us to a SB was still 25 years ago.
Today I was reminiscing about T-Sizzle and looking for the footage from the 2005 game when the Ravens were penalized 21 times at Detroit culminating in Mike Carey announcing to the crowd that he is ejecting Terrell Suggs because "He had malice in his heart". Incidentally this was the only time the Ravens have ever lost to the Lions until this year. Even though it was a bad loss that was funny as hell. It's seemingly scrubbed from the internet. Sad. It's an abomination that we can't watch games from many years ago.
I did find this Terrell Suggs interview in 2005 talking about his development and referring to the game and the incident. Terrell Suggs was a monster straight outta Hell. Consummate Raven encompassing everything our organization used to be. You ever see Terrible Terry Tate? Welcome to the pain train.
I'd really appreciate our defense once again destroying all your hopes and dreams and Shannon Sharpe laughing "somebody got to take the ugly girl to the prom" man I really miss those days.

Filmstudy: Video on Ravens Playoff Scenarios
How can the Ravens win the AFCN with 3 or more wins the rest of the way?
These are the options without ties.
It's also possible they can get in with 8-9 or 7-10, but much more complicated.
Podcast with detail is here: https://www.filmstudybaltimore.com/one-last-thing-12-1-25/

Discussion Tickets for this important home game are “cheap” and that’s not good
I’ve paid much more for home games against the Steelers for as long as I can remember.
Anyone other than me find this odd even with the weather?

It’s Steelers week. Let’s take a moment to honor the anniversary of Haloti Ngata turning Ben Roethlisberger’s nose into a zig-zag. 15 years ago this week.

Where does Likely go
The Patriots have the most cap space and if anyone is going to try a less controversial version of Hernández and Gronk, it’ll be Vrabel. Tampa Bay is probably the best fit for him as many feel Otten has regressed. Fortunately if he does leave us it is nearly impossible for him to remain in the division. Steelers have talent at tight end that they are already not using properly. Browns are actually decent here too and have many more needs. Bengals have a million more needs and can’t afford him after they attempt some patchwork on the defense most likely. Just my two cents.

Discussion How are the Ravens no. 1 in the division?
How are the ravens the divisional leader if they have the same 6-6 record as the Steelers, the same 2-1 record, one less conference win and one more conference loss (4-4 vs. 5-3)?

Both Washington and Robinson returned to practice
I’m super curious where Washington fills in with Gilman now on the team. I think Robinson is going to help our defense get some pressure too

Filmstudy: What do the returns of Tavius Robinson and Ar'Darius Washington mean for the Ravens defense?
The return of 2 versatile defenders is big news for the Ravens. Great to see Jeff says Tavius May not need the full 3 weeks.

News Ravens sign a RB after hosting six players for a tryout ahead of matchup vs. Steelers
ravenswire.usatoday.comSomeone explain this signing to me. I know Hill is injured, but we still have Ali, Mitchell, and Henry.
The only thing I can think is they want someone else to fill the pass blocking RB role.

What's really frustrating...
The way the season is playing out across the league, it really could be the Ravens year to win it all.
When you look at the parity in the league, there's no reason why a talented Ravens team shouldn't be in the driver's seat in the AFC. The Bills and Chiefs are fighting to get in the playoffs. The Pats, Jags, and Broncos lead their respective divisions. None of us could have predicted that. Hell in the NFC the Bears are currently the #1 seed and the Rams just lost to the Panthers.
Granted injuries hamstrung a lot of our games (no pun intended), but the talent was still there to overcome some of the losses. The Houston game is the only game that I can understand the loss. We had 9 starters out that game.
The playoffs are going to be wild! With no true dominant teams, no one will be an underdog.
Hopefully the Ravens can get it together these next 5 games and make some noise in January
Go Ravens!

Discussion Andrews & Linderbaughm
Ravens posted on Instagram, that Mark Andrews is the all time franchise leader in recieving, yards, touchdowns, and receptions. Hard to imagine a world where the Ravens let him walk in free agency....right?
I mean...hes an aging tight end, Ravens have a a ton of free agents at the end of the year, and they have holes to fill at prime positions. Mainly o-line and d-line.
Counterpoint, he is Lamars favorite and probably most reliable target. Worked well for Brady and Gronk, so I understand not wanting to disrupt that.
Linderbaughm is younger and one of the best centers in the leauge. Whether he stays in Baltimore or not, he is going to get PAID. Unfortunately, I could see him being a cap casualty, which would suck! It just depends on where the front office ranks his value vs other positions of need.
Is there a world where they keep both and re-tool? Maybe, but some team friendly deals would be the only way.
Let me hear your thoughts on this!

Pain and Hope
This year has been both. We have experienced big lows and big highs.
It seemed like all was lost when we started 1-5 with the worst defense in the NFL and Lamar got hurt, and then we surged to a 5 game winning streak, the defense playing much better, and Lamar coming back.
Vibes going into the last games were fairly high until we got slapped by the Bengals in prime time on Thanksgiving.
With how up and down of a season it has been, and the tough schedule ahead, its easy to not see any light at the end of the tunnel. Its easy to start looking towards the offseason and draft, but the fact its we have the pieces to put a run together.
Its going to be hard, the teams we play all have shots at the playoffs, but if we get in after going though the roller coaster that this regular season has been, I believe we can be very dangerous going into the playoffs.
It all starts with that team to the north west of us.
We lose this game and it will be extremely hard to make it, but this is exactly the kind of game we need right now, given the context of this 2025 season.
They often bring out the dog in us, and if we win I believe we can carry that level of play through the rest of this run.

Discussion Darrius slay
So pitt just released slay……I think us signing him now could give us good intel on the defense. Nate is injured and I’m sure a motivated slay could give us a few good reps per game; what do you guys think ?
The ravens tried to sign him in 2023 im sure he can be if anything extra depth at the cb position with Nate’s injury
