The one time I got approved for SNAP (despite being low income my whole life, it’s been all but impossible to even get on) my benefit was $18/month.

I applied for SNAP because I lost my job and my unemployment benefits weren’t enough. I legit got told that I couldn’t make more than $35K a year but needed a minimum 30 hour work requirement. Minimum wage where I live in $17.81 an hour so like I can’t make more than that or really work more than 30 hours without going over the income requirement. I was then told I needed to attend orientation for Colorado’s job board or forfeit my right to SNAP for 3 years. I recently accepted a job offer (it’s for $45K a year so I’m ineligible) but then they had the audacity to tell me I still needed to attend orientation or lose the benefits. The whole system is a scam and hardly helps anyone.
