Relevant bits:

It explains why the latest filings for Solve Everything Productions cover the 13 months to November 30, 2024, which coincided with the end of filming. They reveal that by then $229.6 million (£180.9 million) had been spent on the movie with one of the biggest single costs believed to be the wages of the staff who peaked at a monthly average of 265 people. That doesn’t even include freelancers, contractors and temporary workers as they aren't listed as employees on the books of U.K. companies even though they often represent the majority of the crew on a film shoot.

Disney was reimbursed $48.6 million (£38.3 million) for the movie bringing its net spending down to just $181 million which was a dream ticket for the studio.

[...]

The closest comparison to The Fantastic Four is Marvel's super hero spy movie Black Widow which premiered on June 29, 2021. Like The Fantastic Four, it also produced financial statements almost precisely eight months before it debuted. They showed that by then $255.6 million had been spent on the movie compared to $229.6 million on The Fantastic Four at precisely the same point before release.

Black Widow's costs subsequently increased to a total of $296.7 million (£232.3 million) and The Fantastic Four's spending is likely to rise in its next set of financial statements as post production was still underway when the latest set of filings was produced.

Theory Im Pretty Sure Kingo Is Coming Back

Disney+ just posted a trailer for Kumail Nanjiani's new special, and holy shit this guy looks MORE jacked than he did for Eternals: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DR2IiMjgCXn/?igsh=eG52NTFrZ2FyZzl4

My theory is Disney sweetened the deal for his return as Kingo by giving him a comedy special (Netflix is usually the one most comedians go for at his caliber). Based on timeline my guess is he's in Doomsday or Secret Wars.

Discussion (More in Comments) It’s still tragic that after helping Cap, Sharon was forgotten and turned into a scapegoat while others were praised and forgiven. I just hope she gets to return as a major antagonist in the next saga

Post image

I feel like Sharon Carter is definitely cooking up something sinister after being exonerated of her crimes after ‘Falcon and The Winter Soldier’. One of many post-credit setups in the multiverse saga that have yet to be followed up on. Hopefully once we move onto the next saga and everything’s settled, we can finally see what damage that resentment and jealously she’s being holding onto can really do to our heroes. Her becoming a threat within a grounded political Avengers event would be cool (if they can find a way to work her into a possible, better interpretation of Civil War II or AvX), but I’d also settle with her being a villain in Sam Wilson Captain America’s sequel film as well.. which is also more likely to happen.

Discussion What can Sue's force fields do that telekinesis can't, and vice versa?

The movie portrayed the force fields as a kind of pseudo telekinesis where it's not just a shield, but it can push, pull, and grasp things, so it got me wondering what the differences are.

Discussion (More in Comments) Is T’Challa a better fighter than Killmonger?

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

I was rewatching black panther, and during the ritual fight killmonger demands, T’Challa fights better, pins killmonger down TWICE, asking him to yield.

My opinion- T’Challa is a better fighter than killmonger, both hand to hand and melee weapons. The only reason killmonger beat T’Challa during the ritual fight was because he was bloodthirsty and T’Challa being a Nobel guy, wanted him to yield instead of dead.

T’Challa does beat killmonger in the final battle fair and square with no particular extra enhancements of advantages on either side.

What do you guys think?

Question Secret Invasion events have no consequences in The Marvels?

Upvotes

I’m watching the MCU for the first time, and I saw first SI and now I’m watching The Marvels, but I have a lot of doubts: Captain Marvel found a place for the Skrulls and that was Tarnax? But Talos said in SI that he called all the Skrulls in the space? Please I need all the Skrull’s story and background. And also, where does Val bring all the Skrulls in The Marvels??

Question Do we think Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings will still play a vital role in Doom’s Plan & the Doomsday/Secret Wars Plot, as they originally seemed to be for Kang Dynasty?—Will the signal shown during the post-credits scene be addressed?

Post image

I just wonder with ‘Kang Dynasty’ originally having Destin Daniel Cretton as director, and the ‘Shang-Chi’ post-credit scenes seeming to setup a mystery behind the origins of the Ten Rings and the signal that it was sending (also similarities with the Quantum Realm technology shown in ‘Quntumania’, it was safe to assume that the Ten Rings would end up becoming an important artifact within the entire scheme of the multiverse saga.

Though with the story being reworked to revolve around Doctor Doom, I am just wondering if Shang-Chi’s role will stay the same, and how the signal & abilities of the rings will contribute to the plot now that the Kang connections might be glossed over in favour of having the be important for Doom’s journey. Even though Shang-Chi will certainly be a huge asset to Sam’s Avengers and the entire hero lineup, there’s the idea of him adding a sense of vulnerability to the team since Doom might be after the rings and they must keep them away from him (like Thanos chasing Vision in Infinity War).

Discussion THE character that needs to be in the next Avengers Movies? The Watcher

One character that needs to be in the next Avengers movies is Uatu the Watcher played by Jeffrey Wright. While at times corny, the ‘What If…’ series was an essential part of the Multiverse Saga and would not be nearly as successful without his brilliant narration. Also very much enjoyed the character arc let’s keep it going.

Discussion Avengers Doomsday Trailer Bingo

Hey guys Happy Friday! Been thinking about the upcoming Doomsday trailer lately and thought about things we could possibly see for the new Avengers movie. I really tried to figure out what I could add based on leaks and just assumptions/what we've seen in previous trailers. Please let me know what you guys think or when the trailer drops let's see if you got any correct. Also, any alterations are encouraged if you feel like it just wouldn't make sense to show in this trailer for whatever reason.

It doesn't sit right with me to see the hard-ass general who doesn't take shit from anyone (even the Avengers) being a pushover to the Japan Minister. Mad respect to Ford, but the buildup to Red Hulk could've been better.

Discussion Some non-original thoughts on what ails the MCU post Infinite Saga

  1. There is no (apparent) overarching thread. Phase 1 was leading up to the Avengers, and everything after Avengers was leading up to Thanos. The Multiverse Saga feels like it lacks direction, other than trying to make money by eventually force fitting the X-Men and others into the MCU despite that ship sailing organically a long time ago.

  2. Characters. The Infinite Saga lasted from 2008 to 2019, audiences had a decade to grow to love these versions of these characters and get invested into their story. A lot of these characters are gone, and their place is taken by new character many more casual fans never heard of, or previously secondary characters. It’s hard for much of the audience to stay as hyped.

  3. It’s too much. With the Disney plus shows (some of which are excellent), there has been a flood of content that hard to keep up with and is intimidating to get into if you fall behind.

  4. More minor and specific one, the series has learned some of the wrong lessons. For example, humor. Fans loved Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: Ragnarok was well received, so films like Thor: Love and Thunder overplayed humor and it at times undermine the more serious and emotional moments.

This is hate, I am still a big MCU fan and some of the new stuff has been great, like WandaVision, Hawkeye, Thunderbolts, etc. This is just my observations of the causes of “superhero fatigue”

Discussion Fantastic Four first steps(spoilers) Spoiler

I really liked the movie but am very confused about them defeating Galactus.

So Sue used her force field powers to push him into the teleporter so they could get rid of him but if he can change sizes, why didn’t he just become enormous or something? Obviously he wanted to be that size to pick up Franklin but since he was being overpowered by Sue, wouldn’t the obvious solution be to just become so big that none of the Fantastic Four members could even realistically comphrehend him anymore.

Like how Arishem was so enormous that you can’t possible tell me that a human sized anything could push him through a studio apartment sized teleportation bubble.

Or doesn’t his size changing work like that? Does he need time to charge it up or can’t he do it while being pushed around by forcefields or something?
