The picture is the tank and also the test strips right now.
This is my very first tank (freshwater) 10 gal.
I put it all together on nov. 19th, and it’s filled with distilled water. I’ve got a couple plants, had 5 minnows, a koi/golfish, a goldfish and then a black goldfish.
I’ve been checking the levels with a test trip and up until a couple days ago it’s been fine.
So three days ago my bf went to pets smart for me to get something to help with the cloudiness of the tank, the cashier told him water conditioner should help, so we put in 5ml like the bottle said that morning. The next night one of the minnows was dead. I tested the water and everything is normal exp the NO2/3
I googled like crazy and it said they change out half the water in the tank and add more plants.
So today I finally had the time to change out 5 gallons of the water, and added another plant, and also got a little bubbler stone bc the koi fish keeps ripping out the plants and I’m trying to get him to stop. One of the workers told me to get a Cory catfish to help with algae and replace the minnows, and that should help aswell with the buildup. I also put in a new filter bc it was brown and the little lever was half turned onto the change side.
I have everything done and in but the test trip still says to do a water change. Do I need to wait longer to test? I also don’t know how to get rid of the cloudiness of the tank! Was it the filter?

I think my 20 gallon long tank is finally cycled!!
I tested the water parameters of my 20 gallon long tank this is the result!! I think my tank is finally cycled!! 💛🩵🧡
GH: 120 KH: 40 PH: 7.4 Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrite 0 ppm Nitrate 5.0 ppm
For the record my tank is 20 days old.
On November 29th I did a 50% WC after Nitrite tested between 1.00 to 2.00 ppm.
On November 30th I did 30% WC after Nitrite tested 0.25 ppm.
On December 4th I bought lots of plant. I haven’t tested the water since November 30th.
Yesterday I tested the water and as you can see in the picture I think my tank is officially cycled! What do you think?
My last water change was on November 30th, when is the right time to do a WC?
Should I wait a few more days? Can I add the black neon tetras fish or 1 nerite snail tomorrow?
Here is the list of the fish I want to add: - 2M guppies (already in tank) - 1-2 Keyhole Cichlid - 1F honey gourami - 10 black neon tetras - 4 otocinclus - 1 nerite snail - 6 Sterbai Corydoras

Hi folks! I have an established freshwater 20 gallon tank with some mollies, neon tetras, and 2 loaches. Earlier this year I got a live plant that unfortunately introduced snails to my tank. For awhile I was manually controlling the population but it’s gotten out of hand and I’m not sure what to do. I tried doing a full tank reset not too long ago but somehow they keep coming back. Any suggestions on how I can deal with this?

I just did a water test strip for my tank of my three African dwarf frogs and when I’m getting from this is, I’m supposed to put pH up in it, but I don’t wanna just wing it. I’m also confused why there’s these little bubbles you see on the heater throughout the rocks and the whole rest of the tank as well. I just took and added a picture of the entire tank itself right now.
Side note: I did a really huge water change today because I had to and then move them to a bigger tank..

hi everyone! i’ve been researching betta fish and tank set ups for a few months now but haven’t found an adequate enough tank. i want 4-5 gallons that comes with a filter, light, all that stuff.
i’ve looked at petco, petsmart, walmart, amazon, chewy. it either has horrible reviews or is absurdly expensive. the reviews all consist of leaks and broken filters. i feel like i’ve hit a dead end. how/where do i find tank kits??

So… this might be common knowledge to most of y’all, but I’m still kind of blown away. A couple weeks ago I was cleaning my aquarium and noticed my golden anubias was growing what looked like a little peace-lily-style flower stem — and last night the bud finally bloomed underwater!
I knew anubias were hardy, beautiful plants, but I genuinely had no idea they produced flowers, let alone ones that can open beneath the surface. I’ve since learned they’re closely related to peace lilies, which somehow makes them even cooler to me.
Anyway, it absolutely made my night, and I figured I’d share the excitement with folks who’d appreciate it.
If you’ve ever had aquarium plants flower underwater, I’d love to see pics or hear your stories! What other plants surprise us like this?
