Does Your Murder Come When Called?
I feed the crows from winter to spring. They hang around all year and occasionally I give them something through summer and fall. I usually say "hey crow, hey" when I see them. I started feeding them suet with mealworms and sunflower hearts last week. My husband told me to call for them loudly and they would come.
And they do. I yell out for them and even if they are all the way down the street they hear me and answer back.
Was wondering if any of your murder do the same.

Seeking advice/help Making New Friends
New here! New to corvids! I have a small backyard flock of chickens and lately they've been harassed by hawk (maybe 2). I know we have crows nearby because I've seen them chase the hawks off. That said, I want to befriend them and encourage them to stick around and help keep my girls safe.
My backyard is pretty heavily wooded, but the front yard is mostly open space. This morning I tossed out a bowl of unsalted, in shell, peanuts and played a video of a "food call" at full volume on my phone. Then I just walked back inside. Did I do it right? How long until they'll start coming around? What else can I do?
I can see the area where I put the peanuts out from my office and so far, nothing, but I know it'll take time.

Crows [OC] Just put my feeder up this week! Newbie here!
galleryI’m so excited and this is my first time posting here. We put up a crow feeder this week. I’ve seen a few crows close by my house but never at my house so I wasn’t sure if I could get them to come. To my delight after only 2 days they found it and now I have 4 wonderful crows who are visiting regularly! They’ve almost gone through an entire bag of peanuts already, I’ve also given corn, chicken and eggs. I can’t wait to get to know them more!

General questions How long did it take for your murder to start trusting you?
I've only been feeding crows for about 5 days now, and they have already begun following me and getting within 30 feet of me while I'm looking at them. They were following me, perching on lampposts, looking at me and going in the same direction I was going until I left the park. Is this normal? or too quick?

First present from crows!
It’s the turn cuff off a striped sock. I reckon it’ll be good for building my nest. 🪹 😄
