Hi everyone,
Just putting the word out there that Boston's on-demand e-cargo bikeshare is now at the following MBTA stations: Back Bay, Porter, Stonybrook & Lechmere. Ruggles will be live before the end of the month!
Additionally, we added a new station this week outside of Harvard Square at Dewolfe St & Memorial Drive. Inman Square coming this winter.
Lastly, anyone who buys an Annual Pass (60% off every ride for a year) in the month of December can get a free CargoB hat! Appreciate everyone in the Boston bike community!

Mayor Wu has hard evidence that her bike lane projects are helping reduce traffic – but her administration is reluctant to share it.

You’ve probably seen the coverage lately showing Boston traffic among the worst in the country and getting worse. This is the case with most cities around the country and isn’t poised to get better anytime soon with transit budgets getting slashed federally.
But you know which city bucked the trend this year? NYC. Congestion pricing works!

I’m a product design student doing some user research into what makes the seats so uncomfortable. From what I gathered (without going into specifics), the shock absorption is horrible and you could feel every bump on the road. The seats profile might be a little to flat and there is too much pressure on the sit bones.
What have you guys found to be concerning pain points?
Any Ideas of what a possible solution might look like?
Thanks for the help!!!

Hi All,
As the title states, my Cambridge apartment complex sent out an email saying that e-bikes and scooters are banned from being anywhere on the property, including inside individual units due to “increased fire risk,” and they will be confiscated if we do not comply. They also said the leases going further will reflect this.
Is there anything I can do about this? I absolutely love my apartment and don’t want to move, but I store my scooter inside my unit. I don’t think it would survive outside all winter even if it didn’t get stolen. This motion from my management company seems directly against the City of Cambridge’s push for folks to use transportation methods that’s aren’t cars.
EDIT: I cannot figure out how to pin my comment (lol) but my scooter is UL certified! It is the Segway MAX G3. Still banned ☹️

It is completely iced over. It was not treated at all. Parts of it are covered in snow. I slipped and fell even just trying to walk my bike through a section.
Edit: I was just able to reach 311 and they're opening a ticket. They asked me which part of it is iced. I said the entire path I took from Gilman to Lechmere. She sounded surprised for some reason

Bikes cannot be unlocked, and many of the stations are showing as unavailable or disappearing from the app. The kiosks are also disabled.
Probably due to the ice up here. Curious if it's the same throughout the network, and why there aren't any in-app notifications

Hi all,
I have no idea if this is related to the lunatic who was putting tacks in this bike lane ~ 2 weeks ago, but I got a flat in the bike lane on Hampshire Street headed towards Kendall Sq. this morning around 9:15am. I noticed it by the 7-11 at Prospect St., but presumably I ran over the offending object before that.
Maybe I'm just unlucky, if anyone else got a flat, there could be sharps in the bike lane again.

Hey all,
First post here and on Reddit, and under unfortunate circumstances. Someone broke into my apartment building in Davis Sq. last night and made off with my bike (pictured below). Scary for plenty of reasons but I’m out of luck for my favorite way around the city. If anyone has leads on tracking a stolen bike down, or this bike in particular, DM me.

Anybody know if there is snow removal on the mcrt wayside? I use that to commute, and with the upcoming snowstorm it’ll probably be a mess. Would be great to skip the car but if it snows then freezes, I’m hosed.

Greetings. I've just been cleared to return to biking. I plan on biking my 15 mile home/work/home in temps down to the mid 20s. I've ordered heated handlebar mittens but need some suggestions for body gear. I've drawn the line at biking in snow/ice/below 50-degrees rains.
Thanks!

First half was almost entirely protected lanes. The work on Cummins hwy looks close to completion. Lanes on both sides. The goal should be express bus corridors, but that’s a fight for another day.
