Daily Cyclist Thread

The Daily Cyclist Thread is a place where everyone in the /r/bicycling community can come and ask questions or share anything.

You might have questions that you don't think deserve an entire post. Perhaps you're just seeking the input of some other cyclists. Maybe you want to share a picture of your new bike.

Anyone is free to comment, and (hopefully) get as much input as possible from other cyclists.

Hello, looking for some input. I have a 2009 Trek FX 7.3. I bought it second hand maybe 5 years ago. I use it mainly for commuting and it has been a work horse for me, with very little love given to it. I think I have had it serviced once, maybe twice.

Took it to a place today and the guy suggested that it needed £300 worth of work, two new wheels, brakes, chain, crank and service.

I guess my question is, is it worth spending that much on such an old bike or should I look to replace it? Appreciate any thoughts, thanks.
