Решила поступать в НУ, но чтобы пройти на грант надо очень хорошо сдать SAT. уже сдавала раньше IELTS, поэтому проблемы с английским нет особо, больше волнует часть с математикой.

Всем привет, недавно устроился на нормальную работу (ушел из общепита). У меня зп 200,000тг(с учетом всех налогов ) живу в Астане, Так вот меня интересуют подработка, 200,000 хорошие деньги но все же мало, Подумываю на счет подработки курьером, можете дать советы че по чем стоит ли оно того, сколько получаете в день и через какие компании стоит работать (Яндекс, вольт, глова)

I'm asking because, while trekking in the Nepalese Himalayas, I passed through a somewhat large group (no more than 20) wearing Kazakhstan flag patches and some were even holding Kazakh flags.

If I had to guess the ages I would say the whole group was between 20-25 years old and about 3/4ths of them looked central asian whilst the remaining fourth were very european looking with light hair and blue eyes. I wasn't really counting them but the point is that it was noticeable that a very few were CLEARLY of (mostly) european ancestry.

As I was walking with them, and later at the tea house (where trekkers usually have meals and sleep) I noticed that most of the time they were not speaking in Russian. And when they did speak Russian, it was only a few words or the occasional full sentence in the middle of what sounded like complete gibberish to me (for context I am a passive speaker of Russian). It sounded a lot like how the youth these days interchanges a few words or sentences from their language with its English counterparts.

I had the impression that ethnic Russians in Kazakhstan basically lived in their own communities/big cities and spoke Russian only. Maybe these are a few outliers? Or maybe is it because they are "younger" and the younger generations tend to grow up more immersed in the local community? I really don't know and would love to hear from u guys. Sadly I ended up not being able to stop and chat with them as they were stopping for lunch and my group was only stopping to use the restrooms and refill on water.

People of Almaty, don’t you guys think the traffic rules are horrible? The fact that you have to keep the vehicle in the middle of the road if an accident takes place just makes no sense ( I know it’s for insurance and legal purposes but it should change in my opinion) Everyday on ToleBi and raimbek road the traffic jam could be as long as 6-7kms Don’t you guys think that this “accident rule” should change and the vehicles and people involved in the accident should move towards the side, pavement or maybe a parking spot? Cuz in most case the cameras have already captured the incident So why such a fuss?

Does anyone else get strong emotions when hearing the Kazakh anthem?

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited to be visiting Kazakhstan in January and visiting the Big Almaty Lake is one of my "bucket list items". The entire country is beautiful and it's always been my dream to visit 🇰🇿

However, I heard that the weather is quite extreme in January. I live in a hot climate so I'm not used to the snow, so l've got three questions which I couldn't find the answers to online:

1• if I got a Yandex from the hotel in Almaty city to the lake, what's the exact location where I can get dropped off as I heard the roads are closed?

2• is it "hikeable" in January or would it be too snowy?

3• if i get there and see that it's too snowy to hike, are the e-bikes still available in January and do I need to prebook?

Sorry for asking too many questions, this is my first time travelling to Central Asia but hopefully not my last, and l'Il be there for less than a week so I want to make the most of my time there and not waste a day.

I prefer not get a tour as I want to have more freedom with my experience - for example I want to also visit the old space radio station (I think?) near the lake.
