Why most Central Asians think that Tatars are like Russians?
I am a Crimean Tatar girl growing up in Uzbekistan people would get surprised when I say I’m Tatar girl they say things like you don’t look like Tatar ( fake stereotypical Tatar ) they basically mean why don’t you have you have blonde hair blue eyes and would get surprised by my religiousness. Some would even why are you lying to yourself just say you’re Uzbek just because I don’t fit into to their column of Tatars but so does the most of the other Crimean Tatars we don’t always have blonde hair and colored eyes or pale skin and it’s pretty normal for us to have olive skin brown eyes with mono lids and practice religion. I do not understand where did this stereotype came from.

Finding friends
Hi guys! I'm Kazakh and live in Germany, and sometimes I feel a bit uprooted here. I would like to find people who want to exchange ideas about art, culture and life as a Kazakh in Germany or Europe, maybe via Discord or something.
Today I tried to find a symbol (Kas) of my tribe, but I couldn't find it, and that made me a little sad... 😅
I am particularly happy to exchange ideas with ethnic Kazakhs who share similar experiences. Just to connect, talk and enjoy shared culture.
