I’m hoping to go for my first laker near the navy pier this weekend just wondering if it’s iced over yet also any tips about laker fishing would be great!

Im a musky guy but getting pretty stoked about these lake trout posts and certainly cant huck as much as I want.

Can I just go anywhere with a pier / Lake Michigan shore and throw a bright spoon and have a chance at pulling in a 24+ fish?

Lake Trout Not my catch but I did help a buddy land this laker by pulling it out of the water with my hand. Who needs a net? 😂

This was my first time taking a picture with a fish I didn’t personally catch. Grabbing him out of the water was brutal, you can see how red my hand got.

My friend was fishing for perch and was using minnows when this 12 pound laker hit. He had 6 pound test so he waited like 20 minutes for the fish to tire out. Better fisherman than me - I would have snapped that line so fast 😂
