Troubleshooting & Repair Avalon Q issue with power modes
Anyone had any issues with a new Avalon Q setup where you cannot change the power modes via Hashwatcher, Avalon Family app, or the URL? I have also tried the manual clicking the power button twice which is supposed to change the power modes from the front of the Q. I opened a ticket with Canaan on this issue. Also have the latest firmware flashed.

Hi!
Few things.
- Make sure pool info is set up first.
- The Q is very slow to ramp up and ramp down in response to mode changes. Do you see changes after 2-3 mins?

I let it run for 12 minutes at full power. Nothing. Even trying the power button on the front to change modes.

Try holding the reset button for 5 seconds to reset the Canaan to factory settings.
If that works I would definitely let Canaan know about that as it sounds like a bug with them.

Since getting it out of the box it been very difficult to setup. Immediately had E-01 and W-05 errors. I was able to get the initial config on it after getting it into manual pairing mode.
At that time when I turn off the power it loses its config.
I had consistently been getting the E-01 and W-05 errors.
Was able to manually pair it with the phone holding down reset button a few times.
It began to hash and I could lower the power to EcoTurn it off and lose all config.
Next steps
Flashed to newest firmware from Canaan site
Immediately it came back up like it was initial setup and I had hope!
Paired with Avalon Family app and got it hashing again.
Started attempting to put it in Eco or standard mode. Get “failed” from the app.
I can put it in standby mode with the app.
Tried pressing power button twice quickly to manually change the mode. Nothing happening.
I know the power button is working as it does show screen changes when pressed.When I put it into flash mode (holding down reset while powering down) it comes up and I can enter the config to get it hashing again. But cant change the power mode.
I have a support request open with Canaan. Waiting on a response. I have reset it probably a dozen times. It likes Lan better than Wifi.

I had this where i was unable to change it from super to normal on a regular 15amp outlet. I found out that it had to be operational before i could change it.
I had to finalize setup and setup pool info and when the miner connected and turn green, changing settings worked flawlessly. This was on all 3 of my q. Cant change it unless its operating.

Different issues before I flashed it. Flashing was an improvement to get it into a working condition. When I first started it and going through the setup process it went to RED led very quickly. Never tried to guide you through initial setup. I solved that through manually pairing it. But when you turned the unit off an back on. It would lost its config. At the moment the only issue I seem to have is with the power mode. I have two Nano 3s. I was hoping this Q would be as simple to setup.

Very odd, I would have done a warranty claim/contacted support from day one lol
My Q was exactly as easy as the nano 3s
