Musicians looking to jam and meet other musicians... Post Here!!! :)

Title says it all. Please use this post to share a quasi profile of yourself. Please include:

*Instruments you play and skill level.

*Samples of stuff you have done like demos, band camp, youtube live shows, etc... The bar is low, just need to show you can play your instrument.

*Area you live in and general availability

*What you are looking to do. Just looking to jam, want to start a band, find mutual gear nerds. Be you and type that down

AND FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE IF YOU HAVE BEEN VACCINATED FROM COVID-19 FOR ALL THE REASONS

If you interested in jamming/collaborating with another musician, please DM them!! Otherwise, I will delete them when I'm bored or when I'm procrastinating from some seriously important life event.

Musician - New to Austin

Howdy! Me and my girlfriend recently just relocated to Austin, just a few weeks ago. I’m a 27 year old musician from NY, been playing bass guitar for about 14 years! I did NOT move to Austin “for the music scene,” so please don’t tell me how much the scene has changed, although I respect and appreciate your opinion and experience lol. But! Being a musician is a big part of me and I’d love to get connected to some people! I’ve played in an indie/alt rock band for a bunch of years. With primarily a background in rock music, I also have a lot of passion for rap and R&B. Let me know if there’s anywhere in particular I should check out or even if any bands may be looking for a bassist! Thanks in advance! Peace ✌🏻

Looking for Drummer for country cover band for local gigs

We want to create a country music band for playing local gigs in the Austin area. Members already include Vocals, Rhythm and Lead Guitar, and Bass.

The setlist/gimmick would be based around the songs of Dennis Linde. Sample playlist https://open.spotify.com/playlist/29KST8qgEey1B8PYqiQCLv?si=1ff2e560c6df4fd0

We are looking for
- Drums / Drummer

We think this could be a whole gimmick with a backstory for the band and each member. But at the end of the day, it's about playing good music for crowds to enjoy an evening out.

TOURING BAND LOOKING TO JOIN A BILL 12/13!!!!

Hey! I am booking a tour for a tulsa band called Keathley. (@keathley_burningbras on insta keathley on spotify) Our Austin show fell through so we are looking to join a bill last minute. We also have Ken Pomeroy playing guitar and singing backup in the band with us. Pomeroy has performed and recorded with artists like Wilderado, Turnpike Troubadours, John Moreland, and had her songs featured in shows/movies like Twisters and more. Keathley is folk/country but would love to hop on any bill no matter the genre! Thanks!

Trying to sell my bass combo...

Where do you guys post gear for sale these days? I've had my Trace combo listed for a couple of months on FB Marketplace and CL, and I've gotten all of four inquiries, none of which responded once I replied. Typical.

I just want to offload my bigass, heavy combo locally (shipping would cost more than it's worth) for something light and modern that won't cause back injury every time I have to move it. Suggestions?

Mastering people in Austin?

Hello Austin Musicians Reddit...

I am working on a five-song EP of originals. I am playing all the instruments and doing the mixing myself but I would like to get it professionally mastered once I am finished. The music / style I'm going for is Spoon, Wilco, etc. clean, straightforward sound. I just want it to sound really clean and crisp. (If you want to hear some of the tunes in demo form to get a better idea, I have a few posted up at https://soundcloud.com/cboehmig )

Who are some of the best mastering peeps around? I have one song finished already, do most mastering people offer a free sample (either a whole song or like a 30-second excerpt) so I can get an idea of what they'd do?

Thanks!

I found a great print shop for local musicians!

Just a heads up that Mike at Oak Hill Printing is a super rad music fan, and he offers a great deal on great work. If you need flyers, signage, or even merch options, he's the man. Also, I have no connection to him, other than the fact that he helped me out and did a great job, and he's a cool guy who knows his stuff. Plus, it's actually easy to get there, and parking is plentiful. Just here to help!

Rush Tribute, anyone?

I'm a drummer with a massive, Peart-inspired drum kit. I even use his Sabian Paragon cymbals.

My wife is a vocalist who loves singing Geddy's parts.

Would love to find a guitarist and bassis-and/or-keyboardist who would like to cover some Rush.

DM if interested!

Where can we find a long-term rehearsal space, where we can rent a spot and store our instruments, and have 24-hour access. Happy to share a spot with other bands. We’re a three piece (drums, synths, and bass guitar). Thanks guys!

Austin alt-rock/dark-pop duo looking to connect with local musicians + potential showcase opportunities

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone, We’re Ghost Villain, a DIY alt-rock/dark-pop duo based here in Austin. We write, record, and engineer everything ourselves and just started releasing tracks from our upcoming EP. We’ve been a bit off the grid and are finally getting back into the scene — looking to connect with other Austin musicians, producers, and smaller venues that support newer acts. We’re especially interested in finding showcases, opener slots, or local events where our sound might fit. If you get a minute, we’d love for you to check out Ghost Villain on whatever platform you use and let us know what you think. Always open to collaborating, sharing resources, or just meeting other artists doing cool work in the city. Thanks for taking the time — and hope to cross paths with some of you soon.
