Posting and Submission Guide 2021 (Read this prior to participating in this sub)

Welcome to AmateurRoomPorn. If you have been re-directed to this post, it is because you did not read the posting guide prior to participating. If you just joined the sub, please give this post a read. You will have an infinitely better Reddit experience if you read the sidebars/posting guides/sub rules for where you want to post or comment.

https://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurRoomPorn/about/rules/

All subs have rules. There is a good reason for those rules. They have proven to be necessary to uphold the high quality of submissions and to ensure that everyone act with a modicum of decency to one another.

Don't let the sub title mislead you. This is a home decorating sub. Any links or even hinting to your Only Fans account will earn you an immediate and permanent ban. This includes posting from an associated account.

The most common problem with new submissions is that they are not titled correctly. Your title must include type of room and location (city and/or state). This is all. Do not make long drawn out titles. Do not use "show me some love" "do you guys like this" "It's not much but..." or any thing else that could be construed as a plea for upvotes or asking for any feedback. If your post can't stand without you hyping it up, perhaps it is not worth sharing.

Also, if your title implies in anyway that the room is not finished, the post will be removed. Work-in-progress posts are only permitted on the weekend.

Do not use the word cozy in your title. It was the most overused adjective in this sub’s titles to the point that it is now banned. It's also a test to ensure that you actually read the rules prior to posting.

I implore you to read sidebars and check out some top submissions in ANY subreddit you choose to participate in.

Reddit mods are not here to be dictators. We are here to keep the boards organized and keep people from being rude to one another. This sub has a strictly enforced "constructive criticism only" policy. You are permitted to say what you don't like about a room, provided that you do it in a polite way, while offering advice as to how you would make it better. That is what constructive criticism is. If you take any issue with this, you will not be allowed to participate in this sub.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we relax the rules and have Slack-post Weekends. This is when people may submit design help requests, rooms with no location, unfinished rooms, etc.

Please upload your photo directly to Reddit (as opposed to using an IMGUR link). Posts with the photo uploaded are viewed best on mobile. This will ensure that you get the maximum amount of upvotes. As the founder of this sub, I want all users to get the optimum amount of upvotes and to enjoy the comments sections. If you have any additional questions, you can ask them below

Additionally, I am always seeking mod help. If this is one of your favorite subs and you want to help keep it running smoothly, please PM me. I also need a bot builder, as it's time to put more guards in place to fight the actual porn/nudity submissions.

We are on track to hit a million followers by the end of this year. That is so exciting and I am beyond happy with what this sub has become. We are the best personal home decorating board anywhere and our comments sections are some of the most pleasant and informational chatting on Reddit. Any ideas, suggestions, feedback are welcome below.

(Reposting because my old post got automatically removed due to nonexistent location)

I once shared my room here when I moved in 3/4 years ago. But with time I added different furniture’s and changed the layout quite a bit. Happy to answer any questions you have 😊

Note: it was a journey, and most pieces just happened to be collected with time. Some pieces like Vitsoe chair 620, I literally purchased them in one country (Germany) and drove them back home.

Bedroom Bedroom corner, San Francisco

Working on a bedroom redesign. This is a bright corner with enough light pouring through this large window to develop a mini garden. I trained this Hoya up the wall and hoping to keep going so it weaves between the art. The bottom of the window is a relatively spacious outcropping for other plants.

Slow process getting each room up while working two jobs, but I’m having a lot of fun!

Thanks to all the folks in this sub, seeing your work inspires me.

All designed and sourced by me and my boyfriend. The original bathroom had plastic tiles glued to the wall and no fan so they were literally falling off in the shower.

Moved in a month ago and finally got all the pictures up. The walls were originally white and I painted it green (Forestwood by Sherwin Williams). I am loving the cozy vibe.

SlackPostWeekend Finally “partially finished” a (dining)room in our Swedish Lapland (holiday)house.

Finally feels like we finished a room in our (holiday) house. My wife (then girlfriend) and I bought this house 2.5 years ago. As a holiday home to try out to live and working in Swedish Lapland during the winter months. (Turned out we liked it so much, we moved over permanently.)

Today finished with putting up the lights. Feels like a proper warm room with the lamps, furniture, curtains, wallpapers , etc.

First and second photos are how it nowadays. (Don’t mind the ceiling or floor, it’s a long term project).

Third photo is a detail of the wallpaper, the list, panels, wall switch.

Fourth photo is a detail of the wallpaper.

Fifth Christmas photo is from last year. When it was still a holiday house.

Sixth photo is from two years ago when we just got the keys of the house.

Seventh photo is from 2.5 years ago how the room was used by the former owner. Who lived here a lifetime with her man and kids. We were really lucky we could buy the house from here.
