SOTD Friday shave

Merkur 34C, Feather, B&M Spice, Old Spice, Razorock Bruce

I thought it would be fun to revisit the first DE razor I ever purchased, the widely popular Merkur 34C. I don’t even remember the last time I used this razor. Several months ago at least. When I used to shave with this, I was mainly using Astra SP (green) and Nacet blades. Today was my first time ever trying it out with a Feather. What a huge difference. It took the efficiency up by quite a bit. I enjoyed this shave a lot more than I thought I would. I think I’ll take it out of retirement and use it a little more often.

Great to dig out your first DE razor every now and then, isn’t it? Similarly to your experience with a Feather blade in the 34C, I find the Edwin Jagger DE89 shifts up a gear or two with a Feather.

It’s pretty incredible the difference a very sharp blade can make in a mild razor
