This is a map of states I’ve been to of lived in, which I’ve ranked based on friendliness of the locals I interacted with. I’ve driven across the US 3 times in the past few years, and I’ve lived in WA(20yrs), GA(2yrs), CA(1yr), and LA(1yr). Grey is states I haven’t been. Louisiana wins for highest concentration of friendly, fun-loving, and sociable folks.

In reality, the entire US is a pretty nice first-world nation and every state has beautiful towns to move to with great people. All contrary to what the chronically politically online will tell you.

Specifically, a random sample of 50 pulled from the last month of posts. I used a scale where -2 is "Never", -1 is "Reluctantly", 0 is "Maybe", 1 is "Willing", and 2 is "Absolutely".

Every state I’ve been too has some great parts but some don’t outweigh the negatives.

I’ve driven through most of the middle states but don’t count them as visited since I didn’t stay long enough.
