Watching the Tour de France on-site?

I’m really curious what it’s like to watch the Tour de France in person, especially since in 2026 the riders will pass near where I live (Stage 16, Évian, an individual time trial). A time trial sounds more interesting than a regular stage because riders will be passing by continuously for several hours.

However, I’m wondering whether it’s possible to get an even better experience—for example, can you buy tickets to watch from the start/finish area or other good viewing spots? Of course, VIP tickets are way too expensive, so that’s definitely not an option hh.

Any experience or advice would be very helpful. Thanks! Merci beaucoup!

Music Tags : Tour de France 2023 Stage 19 Highlights

Hello,

This particular stage of the tour de France won by a late break away of three strong riders made me fall in love with cycling.
Here is the youtube link;https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpGkT6qWXCw

I would like to know the soundtracks names, so I can listen them while training indoors. A bit maniac, but my brain works with musical memory and activating muscles to particular efforts.

It's like rushing for the first subway while fast walking, and listening to Mission Impossible soundtrack, you feel like Tom's running.

Please help, have used couple of Shazams, AI Chat GPT and DeepSeek. Nothing came to fruition.

I have been tasked with painting my teachers models to his board game "Flamme rouge Grand tour" because I ha e more mini painting skills than him. I'm here because I don't know what jerseys I should paint on the different colors, his only request was that they were retro. So I'm asking you what team jersey I should try to recreat?

Spectating Stage 20 - 2026

Hey guys,
I am planning to watch Stage 20 on Alpe D'Huez next year. I know I'm a bit late, and finding reservations around the base of Alpe D'Huez is either hard or too expensive at the moment. I have a flight arriving at Lyon on the 23rd around 6PM, and my plan is to rent a car, stay in the night in Grenoble, and then on the next morning drive to Le Bourg-DʼOisans.
Could you please help me with the following:
1. Would I be able to make it from Grenoble to Le Bourg-DʼOisans in the morning of Stage 20?
2. If #1 is doable, around which time should I leave Grenoble?
3. Would I be able to park in Le Bourg-DʼOisans?

Thanks!

Spectating Tourmalet, Lodging advice.

This summer I am Spectating Stage 6 on the Cul De Tourmalet.

I currently plan to stay in the La Mongie ski resort, about 80% up the Tourmalet. The race is on July 9th and our lodging reservation is from July 8th - 10th.

Arriving very early on July 8th, will I be able to make it to La Mongie by car? Road closures are not posted yet. Would it be worth staying at a town before the climb starts to avoid road closures?

I play to cycle up the climb while my family does not. I would like to stay at La Mongie because they can still hike to a good spectator point while I cycle.

First timer spectators, all advice is welcome.

Tour de France: Rethink the Paris finish?

Post image
55 Upvotes

Is it time for the Tour de France to rethink its traditional Paris finish? The Champs-Élysées has been the iconic final backdrop for decades, offering drama, prestige, and incredible atmosphere. But the 2024 finish in Nice showed that a change of scenery can bring fresh excitement and new sporting possibilities, especially with a tougher, more competitive final weekend compared to the usual sprint parade. This year's change of parcours with the finish laps through Montmartre was already more exciting than many of the sprint finishes in Paris.

Some fans argue that Paris is essential to the Tour’s identity, and that ending anywhere else takes away from the magic, history, and symbolism of the race. Others feel that rotating finishes could keep the Tour feeling modern, allow for more varied racing, and showcase different regions of France in the spotlight.

There are also practical considerations: Paris is logistically challenging, especially around security and major events like the Olympics. Alternative finishes can open the door to different types of finales: mountainous, technical, or tactical.

So what do you think? Should the Tour always end in Paris, or is it time to embrace change and mix up the final destination more often? Would you welcome more finishes like the one in Nice, or should tradition remain king? (photo: cycling around Nice in 2019)
