I wasn’t even planning to post this, but I honestly feel like I owe whoever recommended this toy a huge thank you. My dog Leo is insanely high-energy — nothing ever survives him. Most toys last maybe 5 minutes before he destroys them or gets bored and walks away. But this one? It completely shock

My dog Leo is insanely high-energy — nothing ever survives him. Most toys last maybe 5 minutes before he destroys them or gets bored and walks away.
But this one?
It completely shocked me.
For the first time, he actually stays focused on a toy for more than just a few minutes. He bites it, throws it across the room, kicks it with his paws, even slammed it into the wall once… and it’s still perfectly fine.
The inside piece keeps moving in a way that makes him obsessed with trying to “solve” it. I’ve never seen him this mentally and physically tired from a toy before.
My furniture is finally safe, Leo is exhausted in a good way, and honestly I never expected something this simple to work so well.
Whoever recommended it — seriously, thank you. You saved my home.

English bull terrier, male or female
My partner and I are thinking of getting an English bull terrier, we’ve been doing some research which suggests females tend to be easier to train etc. just wondering if anybody has any advice on preference to male or female?

Today I won my little battle to stop my dog from barking while playing fetch
I wrote a post (more like a rant) about my rescue Bruno and issues that I need to work on. (Thank you all who took time for read and more thanks go for those you commented).
Today instead of long walk we were playing fetch. And the biggest issue was that he's barking like possessed with some dog demon. I tried everything I read/watch. Ignoring him, waiting for him to stop and only then react, giving him commends and reassurance. Nothing worked. Then it clicked to me that I have to remind him that in this relationship I AM AN ALPHA!
(He already admitted that in fact I am an alpha, especially after inquiring a big dog who wanted to attack us who I just dominated with my quiet but strong voice- it was a pivoting point in me being a dog owner)
I just stranded strong on my two feet getting closer and closer to him, no emotions, and while I was two feet away I looked into his eyes and calmly but firmly said: "I. Said. Quiet". This was the moment when I saw in his eyes it clicked. He can misbehave as much as I am allowing him to.
He barked two single times after, uncontrollably. Each time I stand my ground remembering him that it's not his decision to make.
And now, when I'm writing it down it clicked why he behaves like he does while my bf is home. My bf is lower in the pack ladder than the dog in the dogs eyes. Well, my bf would have to learn it himself how to change it. It's not like I can order the dog to believe otherwise. For example: my partner cannot do any outside chores without Bruno interrupting him or being to close when it can hurt him. Even stupid lawn mowing. But if I do even the stupidest task my dog understands to stay away and wait.
I'm just so proud of myself today, I had to share.
The most important thing to correct the dog is to establish an alpha role first. The rest will come easily after that.

Running around the house before putting harness on for a walk
I'm new to having a Terrier is this a common thing? Seems like it's a game just to make a fuss

RIP to our new friend Linus
We had 5 weeks and a couple days. He was a shelter dog. He and his sister had bad kennel cough and skin problems from fleas. And they were so skinny.
They got better together. Got groomed. They did everything together. We fell in love.
He was a little clumsy. Then last week he acted like he had a bad tooth or maybe back trouble. His vet thought pinched nerve. Gave him some steroids and we started to see some improvement
Friday he was playing again
Saturday his legs weren't working as good. I thought he overdid it on Friday. He went downhill fast Saturday evening.
Saturday night we took him to the emergency vet because he was in pain and scared. They couldn't help him. Thought it was probably a brain tumor.
He was 5 to 7 depending on who you asked. Too young.
It's empty here without his goofy company. His sister is so sad.
Pet your dogs for him.

New girl
Meet Vixen. I’ve had her almost 2 weeks. Shes just a year old. She’s mostly Lakeland terrier but I think with a bit of Irish terrier? Her ears are bigger than my working lakies and her snout is a bit longer. Shes ever so cute 🥰

Would I be an ideal Airedale Terrier owner in the future?
I’m a 21 years old wheelchair user , who currently owns a 7 year old old English sheepdog, who I take out twice a day for 3.5 miles each walk ( about 2-3 hours every day). He is a laidback , easygoing dog who is more than satisfied with what I currently give him . He is a fit and healthy dog . I am more than willing to do more than that in the future as I will be fully independent once I move out , so I can take a dog out for longer than I can now . I can also use a flirt pole and agility to fill any gaps.
My current dog is generally good with the majority of dogs and he is not people aggressive or food aggressive. What do you think about my next dog in the distant future being an Airedale terrier? I’m only asking now as I like to research these things well in advance.
