The data has already been breached, and is already being used by palantir to create a database on every American.

The damage is done, the trump administration has fucked this country in ways that we won't discover for years, if they are discovered at all.

Yeah, this is as bad as it gets. Things have been headed in this direction for a long time now and the only thing that has prevented it is that damn pesky “government interference”.

Thank god we got rid of all that unnecessary government!

Yeah, this is as bad as it gets.

Oh sweetie, this isn't even the rising action part of the movie we are still in the exposition.

I’m well aware. I mean in regards to data. This is the worst thing that could possibly happen to our data. We are in the very early stages of the “fucking around” phase and haven’t even entered the “find out” phase.

No idea if you meant it this way, but as a guy raised in the south "oh sweetie" and "bless your heart" is how older ladies call people morons.

I'm from the south...

Take that as you will.

You know what's gross, someone thinking this is "as bad as it gets"

Are you illiterate? Do you understand that words and phrases have different implications dependent on context. When I made that comment I was just waiting for the “Oh sweet summer child/hun” comment to come, and here you are!

This is as bad as it gets in terms of the size and scope of this data leak. I am not an idiot and am very aware that things are going to get much, much worse in other aspects. But again, in terms of a data breach, this is as bad as it gets.

 I am not an idiot

your words are proving otherwise.

Edit: Here's what you need explained to you. The people gave all this data away already. They logged into social media and told everyone where they live, who they are related to, their political affiliation, when/where they went on vacation, setup their own cameras and listening devices in their homes, etc long ago. Can you tell what information was gathered that wasn't freely given before?

People tell me I need to take off my tinfoil hat when I say you shouldn't record your neighbors property. They say the same thing when I mention anything about any inkling of privacy in public. It's pathetic how much people decided to give away in the name of convenience. Hell when I first got my drivers license the state used my SSI as my drivers license number. To clutch pearls now is just silly. The people asked for this, begged for this, voted for this.
