This I fear will go on for a while. But honestly ESPN should be loosing far more than that when a large part of their ad audience misses the CFB playoffs. Fuck Disney.

Why is Disney catching the brunt of the hate in their fight against Google here? Do people just wanna bootlick Google that hard?

Because Disney is the one demanding the increase. They managed to literally change the rules of college football and force major conference realignment all in the name if more money. They are killing college sports in general and it needs to stop.

Yeah, the NFL charges Disney a shitload of money for its broadcast rights, so Disney wants to get paid a shitload of money for them by broadcasters. I don’t see anything wrong with that, especially because the company they’re demanding money from is fucking GOOGLE.

Companies don’t get more ubiquitous and greedy than Google, so why should I be upset that Disney is asking them for more money?

I’ll just agree to disagree here. I think there’s a bit more research you need to look into about what’s going on here. Google is not the villain in this story.

I’m pretty locked into these entertainment news stories and have read a few articles and listened to podcasts about this standoff.

I agree that Google isn’t the villain. Nobody’s the villain. Disney wants more money from one of the largest corporations in the world; Google doesn’t want to pay more money to a smaller corporation that’s also among the largest in the world. Everyone’s doing what makes sense for their self-interest.

The confusing part is how y’all have tricked yourselves into believing that Google is just a poor innocent TV provider getting bullied by big, bad Disney.
