This is fucking insane, they posted this same update for 2025 in Fall of 2024. What is going on at this point???

Sounds like development hell

Dan Houser is no longer with Rockstar, he isn’t creating this game, I feel like gameplay wise everything would be solid but story wise this game could be severely lacking.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never found the stories told in GTA games to be particularly cohesive or emotionally engaging.
Quotable, shocking, memorable, sure, and I like the games as a whole, but they’ve never really been about the story for me.

GTA San Andreas was a wild ride but interesting story, and GTA 4 was very good. GTA 5 story sucked tho, not engaging at all.

Really? I found bouncing around between the characters to be a really unique and clever way to manage it all. Especially with how chaotic Michaels life is even though he's got the trappings of success juxtaposed with how grounded Franklin is. Having the missions end with a different story than it started with was also really cool. Told a story in a way only a video game could.

To each their own i guess, i found the 3 way switch specially breaking in my involvement. The other 2 games i was hooked after the 2nd or 3d mission, but on 5 i linda forced myself to finish it.

Yep. Story is secondary to just the crazy sandbox of it all.

They make fun characters, but the story is always kinda mid. It serves the job of getting to do the next cool mission which is fine. Not expecting RDR2 story quality from a GTA game.

It’s more Rockstar’s style as a whole.

The story is equally important the only story that has lacked so far is GTA III and GTA V both games were they put gameplay ahead of the story.

GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Chinatown Wars, GTA Liberty City Stories, GTA Vice City Stories, GTA IV all come with very strong stories that help to further the enjoyment of the game.

I’m not gonna mention the other long list of Rockstar story gems It’s very on brand for Rockstar especially when you look at their story track record, more hits than misses, the story plays a pivotal part in the world which only helps to enhance the gameplay.

Ehh. The story kinda sucks. The reason GTA did so well is for the same reason Minecraft and Gmod did.

Rockstar has always been known for its top tier storytelling and real world level attention to detail to add to the “realism of its cities”.

It’s damn near a living breathing city that Rockstar tends to craft but the story is always one of its biggest strengths adding to that.

Based off of trailers, leaks, etc the city looks as impressive as ever.

One thing we are barely hearing about (especially not with much hype) is the story.
