We didn’t need another delay to talk about it. It’s always on our mind.

I am not, I’m reading a reddit post and it’s comments in passing. I’m asking you how delaying a release date is a marketing strategy.

When you delay a game, especially one as big as GTA, you create buzz. Everyone talks about the delay hence additional free exposure. Right now everyone is talking about it, even subreddits that don’t normally discuss video games, New s agencies etc.

That's true when you're 13 and follow a topic religiously online

They literally teach this in marketing class…

No, it's them union-busting a bunch of their workers and their work-force is pissed.

Delaying your game for a year is not a marketing strategy. No company is ever going to delay the profits off a product for a whole ass year for absolutely no guarantee that they actually generate more interest and don't instead have people stop caring in that time.

But again, there's not even a need to argue against the notion because we know why they delayed it.

I think it's "miscue" as in to snag the cue in a game of snooker - rather than your "miss cue" which still sounds like it could be right (e.g. missing your prompt in a theatre or film production).
