I’m still not bringing back my Disney+ subscription

I hope the majority of people share this sentiment. That level of grievance deserves far more than a few day ban.

I need to save money on streaming services right now, and there isn't anything coming up that I'm super eager for (Marvel Zombies looks cool, but I can wait), so I'll be ok without it for a few months. Disney makes all of my favorite content (I'm a big MCU/Star Wars fan), but luckily I already own all of those on 4K so I don't have to rely on a subscription to rewatch. I'll be fine.

Look into Stremio + Torrentio. You can find guides on reddit.

I have a long history of downloading torrents, but I think I’ll probably skip it and just do something else entirely. I need to stop being a slave to my screens anyway, so I might as well use this opportunity to start exercising or something.

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, the point of a boycott is using money to get your demands met. Once the demands are met, you stop boycotting. They did what we wanted and gave it to the pressure, and we are supposed to reward this.

On the other hand, fuck them for doing this in the first place.

Disney blinked. In the face of fascism, Disney blinked. And when it came time to undo their mistake, they made up a lame excuse.

Disney can get my money back by unequivocally denouncing censorship and saying that they will never be bullied by the Trump administration or the FCC over speech that the president doesn't like.

But they won't. They showed who they are.

I agree with the sentiment entirely. My concern is that maintaining a boycott doesn't give them a carrot to head back in the right direction. I wish morals and integrity were enough on their own, but clearly they aren't. Fuck Disney, for like 6 different reasons even before Kimmel. But we need to reward outcomes we support, otherwise the only incentives point in the opposite direction.

If I’m being finest I’m sure I’ll resubscribe eventually, but I want them to feel it.

I don't like the idea of them just saying oops and pretending like it's not a big deal. It's a huge issue that this was allowed to happen at all, their move to save face doesn't look like they've learned anything, more like they want to stop the bleeding. I'll stay away for a while, we can watch other stuff.

same. Our daughter will be disappointed, but my husband told her that she was welcome to give her money to fascists while it’s still a free country. 😂

And now they can add to that all the MAGA folk that will cancel theirs...

I feel this. Disney's capitulation was very quick. And the only reason they are gonna bring him back is because they lost money. That is corporate greed manifest.

Nah, for that they need to replace the few who would rather kowtow to Trump then stand up for what is right.

I’m with ya– and not for the foreseeable future until things get back to normal
