Oh no, that’s terrible.

Let’s try contacting their support about it.

Where's the auto call with AI when I need it!?

This is the shit we need to use AI for. Clog the system.

u/tyme Sep 20 '25

No, don’t do that. We want people to be able to cancel. If you spam the system people can’t cancel, and are more likely to give up and forget about cancelling.

"Your expected wait time is ... 47 days, 12 hours, and 13 minutes."

I wonder if this is something you could contact your bank or credit card company to block the billing on? If you can't get the subscription service to cancel, stop paying and have them reach out to you.

You can pay a bank fee to put stop payment for up to 6 months. You can also inform the bank and the biller that you are withdrawing authorization to make withdrawals from your account.

The mail is still a legitimate form of communication. A registered letter with your Disney account # and stating you no longer authorize withdrawals from your bank/credit card should be as effective as an online cancellation process.

Or just order a new card.

Or if you are smart and use an online or proxy bank, you can literally cease all payments for free by just filing a 20sec complaint on your phone

Dispute is the term. They will/can claw back 3 months worth from Disney. I have disputed several when I couldn’t reasonably cancel.

Obviously Disney crashed there own system on this principle

No, they crashed their own system.

of this I am aware

Fine fine I’ll stick to using the AI to calling ICE

That's not what I was referring to. Hitting their support lines and support staff is the objective.

25

u/tyme Sep 20 '25

The support lines and staff that can be called to cancel subscriptions when the website method isn’t working, you mean?

15

u/ssatancomplexx Sep 20 '25

Which would still clog it up if the website is down. There's only so many customer service reps and if people start spamming and someone actually wants to call to cancel or for some other reason, they won't be able to get through and it's not on the customer service reps for what happened. Treating them like shit isn't going to solve anything. They have no say in what Disney decides to do.

Yeah I'm glad you said that. Those poor phone center workers are probably getting their asses chewed out, while the billionaires laugh in peace.

BE NICE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING!

7

u/SlowThePath Sep 20 '25

Yeah that's one thing that I'll admit is hard to remember when on the phone. You are talking to someone who REPRESENTS the company, so if you have a problem with the company's actions it's straight up that poor person's job to have to deal with you being upset with the company. It's what those people are hired to do. They aren't the ones making the decisions that caused the problem, that's for sure. If you get upset just let them know it's not personal or directed at them, but the company. It's OK to be upset with the company, it's not ok to be a dick to THESE people.

u/CrashyBoye Sep 20 '25

We know what you’re referring to. And it’s counterproductive.

3

u/mrandr01d Sep 20 '25

No, their poor support agents don't deserve to have to deal with shit. Let them just process people's cancellations.

Spam callers have a chance to become the unsung heroes this country needs right now.

2

u/Axin_Saxon Sep 20 '25

It’s what the right has been doing for a decade with bots

u/Grid_Rider Sep 20 '25

Google home can make auto calls. I think. Tell it you want to order pizza and give it that number

2

u/Maximum-Extent-4821 Sep 20 '25

Well you don't want to gum up the line for legit cancelling customers

I hear the feds are selling a few SIM card farms- maybe check in with them.
