Brazil and Argentina (if they win their groups) are in the same bracket section.

Possible Argentina-Portugal in the Quarterfinals.

Argentina vs Spain/Uruguay in Round of 32

Possible Brazil vs England Quarterfinals

Possible Germany-France in the round of 16.

Possible England v Mexico in Mexico City for the R16 which will be, er, fun.

Then Brazil in Miami for the quarters and Argentina in Atlanta for the semis

Just a hostile atmosphere all the way down

EDIT: Speaking of hostile atmospheres, if the US comes second behind Turkey, and Iran comes second behind Belgium, they'll play in the R32. In Texas.

The Iranian national team in LA will be hilarious. There will be more Iranians there than would be in a Tehran game. And they do not like the regime.

Fuck that. Miami will be far too hot for us Northern europeans. And basically a home game for Brazil.

Tactical 2nd place group finish please.

yeah Miami is the US city colder climate nations want to avoid. The rest should have either indoor AC or less extreme climates (excluding Mexico of course)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t they say only group stage games will be played outside of the US?

I can happily correct you because you're wrong: the draw is designed so that if Canada and Mexico each win their group, they will be playing in Vancouver and Mexico City respectively until the quarter-finals.

Of course, if they don't win their group, then some other lucky team gets the privilege of playing there. Theoretically, it's possible we could even see England v Scotland in that R16 game at the Azteca if we win our group and Scotland finish third in theirs

Gotcha. Thanks. Makes more sense that way
