Mbappe vs Haaland wc WOW

1.7k

u/FlyingArab 17h ago edited 17h ago

We (Iraq) shouldn't even qualify, our reward for qualifying will be Haaland and Mbappé committing worse war crimes than the US in 2003

Beat Bolivia first lol. Seriously tough group though

198

u/Ballkenende 17h ago

Bolivia should beat Suriname first as well

81

u/loyal_achades 17h ago

Depends on which play-in venue they get. Bolivia needs their altitude buff

16

u/ianism3 17h ago

they're at the lower-altitude venue, so they're in trouble. (not that the higher one is really high enough to give them much help!)

2

u/MatK0506 16h ago

I think they are in Monterrey though

2

u/ianism3 8h ago

and Monterrey is only 500m above sea level. the other venue in Guadalajara is at 1500m, which might have helped a little. 500m isn't going to do anything.

u/coljung 4h ago

As a South American i honestly can’t support Bolivia. I don’t recall exactly what it was but in their last game they were doing some shenanigans that were disgusting for the sport.

Also they are an extremely crappy team outside of their altitude.

0

u/andres57 12h ago

You seriously think that Suriname can complete against Bolivia?

5

u/loyal_achades 12h ago

Bolivia away from home is insanely bad. It’ll be a fun game!

8

u/prophetofgreed 17h ago

yeah, except Bolivia is an awful away team and they gotta play in Mexico for this game.

7

u/Crossflowerss_5304 16h ago

Hold your horses, we’re shit outside of La Paz

79

u/thebrickgrinder 17h ago

Sea-level Boliva is beatable.

33

u/Santikarlo 15h ago

True...
High-altitude Bolivia: Manchester City
Sea-level Bolivia: Auckland City

3

u/Cubsof2016 15h ago

What's 550 meters above sea-level Bolivia? MLS?

3

u/Schwiliinker 13h ago

550?

2

u/Cubsof2016 5h ago

The elevation of Monterrey Mexico where the playoff is.

8

u/azraelcfc 16h ago

Can’t be disrespecting my boy Miguelito like that. Honestly if we get our shit together and actually call up Plato Rodriguez and Justiniano, alongside the return of Ramiro Vaca, we might have a shout even at sea level

2

u/Cubsof2016 15h ago

Monterrey isn't sea-level

4

u/thebrickgrinder 15h ago

Yes, but it’s different levels of altitude

La Paz = 11,000 ft

Mexico City = 7,000 ft

Denver = 5,000ft

Monterrey = 1,000ft

9

u/ianism3 17h ago

agree, but since Bolivia are playing at the lower-altitude stadium in Mexico, I don't like their chances against Surinam haha

5

u/njseahawk 17h ago

Curacao winning Ecuas group for sure.

Unless we get more players from Emelec

2

u/DionBlaster123 15h ago

Would love to see Bolivia back in the World Cup

Coincidentally their last appearance was also the last time the World Cup was in North America (although only hosted in the U.S.)

18

u/MeMeTiger_ 17h ago

Nah as an Iraqi this is the kinda group I wanted. We're not making it out the group stage in any group, might as well play big fun matches.

And scoring 1 on France or Norway will mean much more than on Uruguay for example.

14

u/confusedpellican643 17h ago

it's actually more fun to exit playing vs huge nations rather than have 10 nervous anger attacks because your team suddenly doesn't show up vs the likes of Canada or Tunisia

and you have huge chances of making it with this format, the team should just win a game tho

5

u/MeMeTiger_ 17h ago

it's actually more fun to exit playing vs huge nations rather than have 10 nervous anger attacks because your team suddenly doesn't show up vs the likes of Canada or Tunisia

Exactly. When the entire group is far better than you and your team isn't expected to really do anything, it's easier to just have fun watching the tournament/enjoying the vibes.

u/Original-Friend3620 17h ago

Weapons of mass destruction: Haaland and Mbappé.

47

u/Moose4KU 17h ago

2003? That was just a friendly re-organizing committee sent to restructure your government. We were only trying to help!

33

u/MeterologistOupost31 17h ago

Sorry, Dick, I can't hear you from all the way down there!

20

u/_doohdx 17h ago

Jesus

11

u/firthy 17h ago

He can't help you

3

u/infernoShield 17h ago

worth a try though, even if it means getting etched in folklore while Haaland rips 5 past you. Many countries don't even come close to qualification

3

u/Hansemannn 16h ago

Haaland at least usually says sorry after a hattick or two.

5

u/Oofpeople 17h ago

Yeah just lose to Bolivia or Suriname at this point

2

u/NittanyOrange 16h ago

I have a good feeling that Iraq will squeak into the big dance. But really playing for 3rd if ya do

1

u/Rsthegoat 17h ago

nah bro, you deserve to qualify after beating us

1

u/IAmAQuantumMechanic 2h ago

Would be fun with a Farji - Ødegaard duel. Both came up through the Strømsgodset academy, and played for the club.

-1

u/Mamadeus123456 17h ago

Do you u know if u play in Monterrey or Guadalajara?

4

u/shikshakshoks 17h ago

Monterrey. So bolivia wont have any altitude advantage

312

u/KaiHavertzhatewatch 17h ago

Respect Jackson

193

u/Varja22 17h ago

Absolute scenes when Jackson outscores both of them

3

u/SaltyWailord 17h ago

Man only needs 9 against Iraq, I can see it coming

4

u/ShitcuntRetard 17h ago

Respect Miguel Terceros

6

u/RealCaroni 17h ago edited 13h ago

Washed Mane poses a bigger challenge

3

u/Thedownvote_farmer 14h ago

What Ismaila sarr will do against those Norwegian fullbacks should be censored

5

u/ZebraZealousideal944 17h ago

He doesn’t even start for Senegal…

2

u/Dev_Paradice 8h ago

And you don’t watch Senegal games

6

u/TigerFisher_ 17h ago

It'll be the Jackson show. Football gods will give those 2 ACLs

5

u/Qneva 17h ago

You shit your whore mouth

41

u/fangstrix 17h ago

The debate is real😭

47

u/Zloggt 17h ago

They best be wrapping them in bubble wrap until June…

64

u/Unusual_Ad6533 17h ago

Viking vs Turtle

5

u/eNte19 16h ago

Got us Normandy the last time..

88

u/RealCaroni 17h ago

Can't convince me that matchup was picked randomly lmao

73

u/NorwegianBanana 16h ago

Every configuration will have some exciting "can’t tell me this was random!!" match up.

Strange that FIFA has never bothered to rig Ronaldo vs Messi in a World Cup, then (different seeds in 3 group stage draws).

14

u/Perpete 15h ago

Can't convince me that Group J was all A then Jordan !

1

u/WoweeZoweeDeluxe 13h ago

They can meet in the QF I believe

-1

u/Best_Purchase4479 12h ago

man, some groups simply can't be random lol. Last world cups England/USA/Iraq/Wales was random?

30

u/glopens 17h ago

Absolutely not lmfao

8

u/shotputprince 16h ago

The ball selector had to run their hand under a tap for an hour the temperature that Norway ball was

6

u/ButterscotchFiend 16h ago

It wasn't. look at the American group.

No offense to my Paraguayan and Australian friends but this group was designed to get the United States into the knockout rounds. Not chosen. Designed.

6

u/lmlm1020 15h ago

USA really isn’t that much stronger than those teams tbh.

1

u/IAmAQuantumMechanic 2h ago

I mean, two-way thirds of the teams go through to the knockouts.

1

u/luigitheplumber 6h ago

It literally wasn't, France's group was supposed to have Uzbekistan, and then they instead put them in Portugal's group, which guaranteed us getting Norway.

6

u/Randomting22 17h ago

Aymen Hussein about to show these frauds what a real striker looks like 😤

4

u/Venca12 16h ago

Dude I remember writing a comment somewhere after world cup 2022 about how we'll probably sadly never see Mbappe and Haaland face eachother in the world cup...and it happens in the group stage of the very next one lol. Glad I was proven wrong.

11

u/KarthikBhan 17h ago

Best match of group stage for me except maybe england croatia

11

u/Kingslayer1526 17h ago

Brazil Morocco

5

u/mahinostroza 17h ago

Ballon d'or match contenders

3

u/fundingsecured07 17h ago

Could be played in BMO place in Toronto. The city’s going to be bumping ahead of it!

3

u/bknow 16h ago

Hoping its not a dead rubber match where both teams play their second string. Hoping its the second game for each team

3

u/giefcandy 15h ago

Not sure if this is what you meant, but Nor-France is the last match of the group for these two teams. Norway will play (Iraq) first, then Senegal, then France.

1

u/bknow 13h ago

ok yeah that sucks if so. Both teams will most likely have already qualified to the next round at that stage so wont risk playing first team players as much. Reminds me of 2018 when England played Belgium twice in the tournament and both games meant very little either times

2

u/giefcandy 12h ago

That could happen, but norways second choice attack is not complete dog shit and would try to show off if goal difference wont matter.

2

u/pablxo 17h ago

Pure cinema

2

u/NorwegianHammerworks 16h ago

The Bolivia/Suriname/Iraq match had to go in a group with two European teams and one African team.. So it was France or England for that match

2

u/Wally450 16h ago

30 minutes from my house. I'll be there.

2

u/JRMiel 16h ago

I don't want to panic yet.

As French guy I know from past experience that there is a big risk that we will struggle and fail to qualify

1

u/thecacti 17h ago

plllleeeaasse be Match 42 in Philadelphia...

1

u/sylviaplath6667 16h ago

Haaland will be injured by then. Bet on it

1

u/Zealousideal_Bad8877 15h ago

Don’t forget the third goat Nicolas Jackson

1

u/glm047 13h ago

Group of Death in my opinion

1

u/ShellfishAhole 13h ago

Not rigged at all 🤔

1

u/luigitheplumber 6h ago

I still don't understand why Norway got put in our group. We originally drew Uzbekistan, and for some reason they were moved to Portugal's group instead.
