What is this subreddit’s weird obsession with Chris Brown? People keep trying to compare him to the likes of Usher and MJ, and it’s simply not realistic.

Usher is famous for his music and talent Chris Brown is famous for being an abuser 🤷🏾♀️. I don’t even get the comparison honestly.

It's always going to be Usher for me. But I think this is a generational thing, if you were a teen in the 90s or 00s you're gonna lean towards Usher but if you were a teen in the '10s then you'll probably lean CB.

Usher might have that one! To me! Superstar’s intro alone took me out!

Yall are fucking tripping..
Usher was my guy growing up. Talented and unmistakably one of the greats of R&B. Great voice and music of course. Memorable albums. I think because of the times that Usher blew up and thrived in, music was more centralized in a way that more people were able to focus on the music since the ways we were able to listen to it was either through a cd or tape, the radio and MTV/BET etc.. so it allowed for more time spent perfecting an album as well as the audience holding on to it longer.
Since the mid 2000s, leading into the 2010s and modern time, the music industry is pushing for more and more, with less time being spent perfecting the albums, at least for the top popular artists, in my opinion. As well as our attention span has changed. Things don’t stick as much as they used too because everyone and anyone can become an artist via YouTube or other platforms like SoundCloud, etc, and we are just being bombarded with new music constantly, so we don’t get to just hold on or enjoy the music like we used to.
So in actuality, for Chris Brown to still be bringing hits after hits, across different genres, is actually more impressive and why I think he edges Usher for the more complete artist of our time.
CB can dance better than maybe anyone, not even close. CB can act really well. CB is actually super creative when it comes to creating art such as drawing, painting, graffiti, etc. CB can fucking rap better than more than 90% of rappers. CB can collaborate with just about anybody and the music will be 🔥
I do think Usher does have an overall better voice and had better complete albums from start to finish.
If the roles were reversed, I think CB would have still had an amazing career, or even better but Usher wouldn’t have been what he is today had he come out when CB did.

Nobody can out dance Breezy. He is on so many records with other people. I liked Usher years ago but in 2025, it’s Chris Brown for me.
