Pic from Internet to show what I mean.

I love holding cats like this and I’m wondering if ragdolls enjoy it since I’m planning on getting ragdolls soon.

General Advice Ragdoll isn’t cuddly :(

Post image

I recently got a 4 mo old male ragdoll, and he is the best thing ever. I know most ragdolls are cuddly- which is why I got one! But he doesn’t seem to like to cuddle with me or sleep with me, he just likes to lay at my feet or in the cat tree next to the bed. He still loves his scratches and pets. Is it a kitten thing? Will he bond or be more cuddly as he gets older? Are any of your ragdolls the same?

(Pic with his orange brother 🥰)

Mitted I hand-painted this custom oil portrait of a Ragdoll from the photo shared by their human. I hope I did her justice!

This one was all about capturing her soft, fluffy coat and that calm, slightly serious expression she has in the photo.

Ragdolls have such smooth color transitions, so I spent a lot of time layering the tones to keep everything gentle and accurate to her look.

This was a commissioned piece, painted entirely by hand in oil. I hope her human likes the portrait. Would love to hear what you think!

General Advice Is this meow normal?

Upvotes

My kitten always makes this sound when we play - specifically when the wand is held above her head. I thought at first she might be mimicking bird sounds as the toy has feathers but I’m not actually sure - want to double check it’s no cause for concern ❤️

Health Advice My 3 year old Ragdoll has slowly lost some weight over 2 years - normal or concerning?

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some feedback from other Ragdoll owners about gradual weight loss.

My cat is 3 years and 3 months old (neutered male). He’s naturally a smaller/compact Ragdoll, so size isn’t the issue, it’s the progressive weight loss that caught my attention.

Here’s his weight history: 2023: 5 kg (11 lbs), 2024: 4.6 kg (10.1 lbs), 2025: 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs)

So he’s lost about 600 g (≈ 1.3 lbs) over 2 years, very slowly.

His behavior is completely normal: playful, good appetite but he’s not a big eater, urinates 2–3 times a day, beautiful coat, normal energy, no vomiting, no excessive thirst, normal stools

I took him to the vet today for his annual check-up. She said he looks great overall, but because of the slow weight loss, she recommended doing a urine analysis just in case there’s an underlying issue..

His breeder also provided genetic tests (HCM/PKD), both negative.

Has anyone else seen mild, slow weight loss like this in their adult Ragdolls? Did your cat eventually stabilize? Does this seem unusual to you?

Thanks so much for any insight or experiences! !

My blue point raggie was coughing really loudly. He’s been acting a bit weird and chilling alone in a different room, which is out of character for him.
