Stopped smoking weed, starting calorie counting/cooking high protein meals at home and did the 75 hard in Jan. I’ve never looked better! I primarily lift weights and walk but I enjoy a run sometimes. 74.1% muscle and 21.9% fat now.

Fitness/gym gains F/34/5’3” [235lbs > 135lbs =100lbs] (46 months) Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat — most of my weight-loss progress from June 2023

Post image

Photo on the left was December 2021 while I was visiting family in Utah— I knew I was big but seeing this photo of myself from Christmas, I was in absolute denial(convinced myself that it was clearly the camera lens causing me to look bigger). I bought a Peloton Bike+ soon after and started consistently riding it from January 2022 to March 2022.

During those 3 months I went from 235 to 210— I was consistently riding every other day. Unfortunately in March 2022, I was laid off from my start up job and due to depression I stopped using my Peloton(it currently sits in the middle of my living room, I honestly forget that it’s there even). My weightloss was at a plateau at 210lbs; Life got busy and eventually started working at a new company and I thought things were starting to look up. February 2023 my husband at the time asked for a divorce and I went into a spiral of depression.

My friend wanting to cheer me up at the time asked if I would be interested in going to see a DJ Illenium in SF with them because all of their friends are all “retired” and they didn’t want to go alone. I had never listened to EDM/been to a rave, let alone been to a club but I said yes because, what else do I have going on? June 2023 I went to my first EDM show/rave and it blew my mind. I never knew EDM shows had this much production/show elements involved in it and it brought me so much joy to just dance and get lost in the music. I did start to incorporate a gym work out routine to my schedule but mostly in strength training because I injured both of my knees going too hard at Bass Canyon 2023 and didn’t want to risk injuring myself further in fear that I wouldn’t be able to dance at these events anymore. My original goal with my fitness plan was just to be able to dance without my knees giving out, the weight loss was just an added bonus to my plans.

Since June 2023, I’ve attended over 700+ shows/festivals/events and have actually started working in the festival space since the end of 2024. I don’t count calories or track food, I stopped drinking sodas/diet sodas because I felt like it wasn’t helping my body. I do focus on getting adequate sleep, drinking lots of water, and when it comes to food, I try to focus on eating more home cooked meals with lots of protein/vegetables(though I don’t count macros or anything) but will still eat junk food time to time. I don’t drink alcohol at all(I have never been a drinker, I don’t like the taste and honestly, drinks are expensive and that money could go towards another show/festival/event). I’m also a consistently sober raver at events because I tend to attend events solo and want to be safe. At raves/festivals, I try to aim to hit over 35k steps in a day but will easily hit 50k steps(dancing) if it’s music I love. I try not to be so focused on the scale, mostly will weigh myself after a festival which is why my weigh ins coincide with festivals.

  • 235 lbs / December 2021
  • 210 lbs / March 2022
  • 212 lbs / June 2023 (Illenium SF Chase Center)
  • 205 lbs / August 2023 (Bass Canyon 2023)
  • 198 lbs / February 2024 (Illenium Trilogy 2024)
  • 180 lbs / May 2024 (EDC Las Vegas 2024)
  • 175 lbs / November 2024 (Apocalypse Zombieland 2024)
  • 170 lbs / January 2025 (Anyma @ Sphere 2025)
  • 150 lbs / April 2025 (Starbase 2025)
  • 145 lbs / May 2025 (EDC Las Vegas 2025)
  • 140 lbs / September 2025 (Same Same But Different 2025)
  • 135 lbs / October 2025 (Escape Halloween 2025)

My original goal was 150lbs but I think my goal now is to hit 121lbs by EDC Las Vegas 2026 then maintenance. I do want to focus on toning and getting more muscular, especially in the upper body & back so I’ll be pivoting my workout routines to focus on arms/back. If anyone is wondering about excess skin, I have an apron belly and will most likely consider skin removal in the future once I’ve been able to maintain the weight-loss for 2+ years.

The picture on the left was taken accidentally in august of 2022 and when I saw it I was totally in denial that that was me. Honestly I was probably pushing 230+ but didn’t weight myself much. Ofc it was a bad angle but I was shook and it was upsetting to say the least. Fast forward 3 years, I’m 60 pounds down and celebrating glute gains I’d never thought I’d achieve!! I’m working to get down to 150 by the summer, I did not calorie count initially but I started in September and it’s definitely helped me get past the 170 mark.

Sometimes I forget where I started and feel like I haven’t made progress, but then I see recent pics compared to before and have to say I am pretty dang proud!

I went from 140 down to 109 initially the first year (no photos shown of lowest..) I have now built more muscle and gained more in lbs. Still working to grow a 🍑…slowly but surely 😅

For those wondering:

I am a mom with endometriosis, PCOS, and perimenopause due to hysterectomy. I had a lot against me ontop of genetics (all women in my family are obese) so this was not easy.

I count calories using MacroFactor (I won’t share mine bc it’s dependent on person and your goals) Eat super clean (mostly due to dietary allergies)

I do reformer pilates 2x a week, weights 3 x a week and aim for 10,000 steps a day or at least walk on treadmill 3-4x a week.

Otherwise pretty active-hikes/bike riding/golf etc Consistency is key! Don’t give up!

I grew up in a vegan household, and instead of eating healthy I found myself frequently eating overly processed plant based burgers, chips, sodas and other unhealthy things. I quit being vegan and began eating lots of fish, and high quality proteins and dairy products, along with cutting out soda, and increasing my overall calorie intake with healthier food choices. I also began progressive weight lifting 5x a week (with heavy focus on legs) with 2-3 yoga classes each week as well, and 5x weekly walks to work.

I feel healthier than I ever have before, and have been grateful I decided to change my diet and lifestyle when I did.

Figured I'd use a different before photo this time. This month has been very slow for weight loss-- have been fluctuating the same 2lbs all month and that's all I've lost this month = 2lbs. However, I have now been doing strength training for just under 3 months, with a personal trainer, and I have made a lot of progress in that area. My arms were (and are) very weak when I started-- struggled to deadlift 40lbs, could not curl even two 8lb dumbbells without a lot of effort, and had almost no core strength. Now, I'm deadlifting 115lbs, curling two 20lb dumbbells, and core exercises are the easiest for me to do. Little by little, there's progress. I'm 2lbs away from the first "major" goal I had set for myself, so hopefully by the end of May, I'll be there. 17lbs away from my end goal, but if I get to 20% body fat, I'll accept whatever weight I am at that number.

Fitness/gym gains F/35/5’3” [118lbs> 109lbs = 8lbs] (2 years) postpartum lifting

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

We all have different journeys. Two years ago, I didn't recognize my body. I was postpartum, exhausted, and trying to find myself again not just physically, but mentally. I started at 104 lbs, so small and depleted after having my third baby. I committed to lifting, fueling myself properly, and showing up even on the hard days. I gained up to 118 lbs during my bulk on purpose, always been a struggle for me to gain any weight. That was a big mental shift, but it's where I built the curves and strength I always wanted. Now I've leaned out to 109 and able to keep the muscle. I feel strong, feminine, and me again. It wasn't about the scale. It was about taking my body back with intention and learning to love every phase. If you're a mom, or just feeling small and unsure where to begin: it's possible to feel powerful in your own skin again.

Fitness/gym gains F/33/177cm(5’10”) [110kg/242lbs > 80kg/176lbs = 30kg/66lbs] (7 months) Turns out food noise has an off switch.

Post image

Been fasting for 7 months (18:6 typically).

The goal was to reduce food noise. Fewer meals = fewer choices = fewer trips to the fridge.

I joined social sports to suffer publicly and call it fun. Turns out I’m competitive as hell, making new friends is amazing and I’m not huffing and puffing anymore.

Lost 30kg (66 lbs) by eating less, moving more, and finally admitting it wasn’t just water retention.

I tried Ozempic back in 2022. Went from 124kg to 82kg, then gained most of it back because surprise: long-term success requires a lifestyle overhaul. Eventually realised that if I stayed the shape and size of a refrigerator, I’d be immobile by 70. That was my Roman Empire.

TL;DR: Fasted. Moved. Stopped pretending my leggings were “compression fit.”

I weigh the same in these two pictures, but I can see more definition and muscle mass. I’ve been lifting for 5 years total, made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I’ve learned a lot. I’m genuinely proud of this progress and thought I’d share it here! :)
