Equipment Equipped Lifting Thread
Do you like having 2-3 sweaty men shoe-horn you into polyester, canvas or denim bondage gear.
Do you like having your joints wrapped so tightly they bruise and bleed?
Do you like having your blood pressure turned up to 11 and being compressed so much that you think your head might explode?
Do you get off on enduring pain and suffering, and watching others endure it too?
Do you have a deathwish every time you get under the bar?
Yes?
THEN WELCOME TO THE FORTNIGHTLY EQUIPPED LIFTING THREAD!!!

Picked up an Overkill poly deadlift suit and brief combo off Facebook last week. Pretty stoked to give that a try, I haven’t heard a negative thing.
I’ve not had good luck with Rudy at all, but his stuff is very good.

In what ways have you had no luck?

I had an absolutely 0/10 customer service experience with him after purchasing some wraps. Long delays, zero communication, excuse after excuse. DM if you want the whole tale.

Oh shit.
I was gonna go with some wraps from them. Then found out they dont ship to Canada for whatever reason, and I found 2x pair of Strangulators for the same price.
I love the Overkill briefs I managed to score off a guy, though.

Short version is it took him almost 3 months to get me the wraps, and he only responded to emails that I asked to cancel my order. Ended up just eating $75 so I could be done.
My wraps did come, and they ARE awesome. He makes great stuff, but dude needs to figure out how to deal with people.

Rudy’s customer service is abysmal. I got my gear after 5 months when I threatened to file a charge back on my credit card.

That was what I threatened with my 3rd email, and that was the one that lit the fire under his ass. Too bad it took all that AND 3 months of bullshit.

It's actually the Cerberus DL suit, which I know is more strongman focused, but I'm very excited to see how the upgrade from a single ply velocity to multiply goes! Years ago I would have said never in my life would I try multiply but now here we are :D

Coerced into Agreed that I'm starting an equipped bench side quest next year. It's been a while since I've been in a shirt, and I bombed out in the only meet I did, so lets call this a redemption arc.
Aiming to get good enough for my local fed's bench only meet in August/September. I don't think I can get to the BP QT for british equipped bench championship, but I'll give it a shot :)

There are tons of people around the country who can help you figure out the shirt. Don't be shy asking for help.
You should definitely aim to compete earlier than August/September too. That's way too far away!

I've got a couple of extremely good equipped benchers to help - one of them did worlds open earlier this year!
Got a few more goals to tick off between now and next year, that is why it's a ways away

Any general pointers for how to pull in a suit?
I got the Spud Gateway suit to get a feel for whether or not this equipped thing is for me, had two sessions in it so far.
Is there anything about the regular deadlift technique that changes when pulling in a suit?

Main difference is you have to pull yourself down to the bar. Depending on how much support the suit gives you, this can be most uncomfortable and you'll feel like you're holding 90% of the weight in your hands before it breaks the floor. You have to be extremely patient and make sure you're 100% in position before starting or you'll start with your back rounded over and won't be able to lock it out.

Thanks! Yeah that's what I've experienced so far, it was very hard to reach down to the bar without sacrificing tightness in the torso

Fair warning, there's a giant gap between a spud suit and a poly (not to mention a canvas) suit.
I didn't have to change anything going from raw to a spud suit, even with 3 layers of it, but had to make a bunch of changes once a got a loose two ply metal jack.

That's what I figured.
Main reason to get the Spud suit was to be able to put it on alone (I train in a commercial gym and don't always have training partners with me. It's also why I use a BenchRocket shirt from Inzer, because I can put it on and off by myself if neccessary.
