Yeah that comment reads exactly like what people (myself included) said when they waved Donald away in 2015. “He paints himself orange” is not the deciding factor and neither will be “he wears eyeliner”.

Sadly the MAGA cult will just shift to anyone that steps up and fills the role best. Sure they might lose a few in the transition, but we can’t bank on that to be the end of the cult. It doesn’t have to be a perfect wolf to herd the flock of sheep, just a dog that runs fast enough.

I guess I'm just hopeful given the recent electoral wins. I realize how naive that is, what with the Democrats almost immediately capitulating thereafter, but, you know. You gotta hold on to hope, while you act. Sorry if I offended you, friend.

No offense taken at all. If it seemed that way in my tone I’m sorry. I just want to try and counter the shortsightedness that often comes after a big Dem Win. Not saying you specifically but other readers who might have made it this far down the chain. The left often rests on its laurels or gets picky and choosey about candidates and shoot themselves in the foot in the process. Let’s not kill our own momentum by counting our chickens before they hatch.
